Hotel Bracara Augusta

The building is a lovely re-working of an old edifice. The staff were very welcoming and the quality of all aspects of the hotel was very high, especially in view of the very reasonable cost. I look forward to returning on a future visit.

Very nice hotel with a perfect location for exploring the major sights in Braga; right on the pedestrian walk and plaza along Avenida Central. A 15-20 minute walk or 5 Euro taxi ride to the train station. The room was spacious and the huge windows lovely. WiFi worked perfectly. There was fresh fruit and bottled water provided each day and thick terry cloth bathrobes. The bed was very comfortable. Loved the dining room incorporating ancient roman columns/arches of the original building. Breakfast (which came with the room) was excellent and substantial. Areas for improvement -- contrary to the description on Hotels.com the room did NOT have a coffee/tea maker (nor could one be provided when we requested it because there "was only one and it was in use"), same for the iron & board and the safe in the room didn't work. One of the oddest things was the lack of anywhere to hang bath towels (or anything else for that matter) in the bathroom. Overall, I would stay at here again. Room tip -- we had a room to the back of the hotel, I would expect the ones at the front to suffer from the street noise -- it is a lively area. A room on a top floor would also be quieter. We could hear the people above when they walked hard, and the kitchen noise at the end of the night from below was a bit disturbing.

A very comfortable hotel with excellent food at night.Breakfast could be improved.My only complaint -which is typical for Portugal,the beds were a little narrow and not that comfortable.Its rare to get beds to international standards in Portugal but I have started to see some improvements. In general I would choose this Hotel in most cases on visits to Braga.

We enjoyed the Hotel, the friendly staff and the city of Braga!

When we visited Braga this week, for a short break, taking the match into account as well, we stayed at the Bracara Augusta Hotel, as it was rated as the best hotel in Braga, as well as being central, how right was the rating. The staff were all great, and went to extra lengths to attend our requests at any time, and they were so helpful, and provided my small group with everything they asked of them. The restaurant staff and the food were all excellent, the choices was great, as well as the large portions, also the price paid was excellent, so overall an excellent choice for anyone who wishes to visit Braga, you will not be dissapionted. Enjoy the experience.

Good hotel and excellent service. Good location closed to e erything you need to see. Good bed, however pillows could be improved.

The hotel is at an excellent location. However due to construction in the area, was unable to locate it easily. They should have put signs somewhere indicating hotel parking information. Other than that the hotel was great, and was walking distance from the city center.

ideal location. excellent services and restaurant. if we go to braga again, we will certainly stay there.

A great stay. The breakfast was delicious!! The hotel was in an extremely convenient location. Two thumbs up!
