Hotel Ponferrada Plaza

We booked a non-smoking room to be given a room that smells like an ashtray with air conditioning that is no more than a fan to move the smelly air around. The sheets are so threadbare they tore in the middle of the night. Free wifi is dodgy. Very disappointed and have left unwell from breathing the putrid air all night.

Overall a good experience. Maybe a little on the expensive side, because there is a wealth of accommodation available. It really is a Business hotel. Everything worked fine. Room was fine, not stuffy. Modern bathroom. No complaints.

I was here during the Road Cycling World Championships. Room was small and basic. I could here every noise and movement made in the hallway from my room. Cleaning staff knocked on my door for room cleaning despite a do not disturb sign on the door. Front desk were fantastic and gave me some great advice regarding where to eat.

enjoyed a two night stay .located a short walk from centre and old town but thats probably why its priced at such good value. rooms clean and comfortable. staff friendly .nice bar and restaurant. mini bar but no tea /coffee facilities in room.

We had driven from Muxia and were looking for a place to stay. As usual parking was difficult in the town so I pulled into a Macdonalds parking lot. Across the street was this hotel. When I entered the Lobby a very gracious man gave me the key to inspect a room. It was clean and comfortable. He also helped us book a hotel in Leon for the following night. Breakfast was good.

Efficient check-in, comfortable room and good restaurant. What more do you want.

My father and I stayed here as a stop close to Las Medulas and about half way between Santiago de Compostela and Leon. The hotel is fine - as with most places we found, it has an inexpensive set menu which we had - three courses, wine and water for €11 each. Breakfast was adequate. Room (or probably hotel) was quiet but the place looks a bit tired and bland. Parking was free and if memory serves the wi-fi was free. Perfectly satisfactory but hardly a stand-out place.
