Hotel Toural

This is a very well located hotel in the old town of Guimaraes. The front desk staff were very helpful with a lot of good local suggestions. The hotel itself is a little dated, the rooms need to be refurbished to bring them to a modern standard. The bathrooms and air conditioning in particular need to be addressed.

Helpful reception Staff. Free parking on select adjacent streets, but do not count on finding open spot.

Close to dining and sight seeing.

The most helpful staff we’ve ever encountered, nothing was too much trouble . Breakfast was a real joy, no buffet to manoeuvre just sit and have excellent service and a very good breakfast. The only problem we had was finding the entrance , it was raining so it made it a little more difficult , an extra bit of signage would do wonders . All in all a superb stay . Well done staff .

Super location. The breakfast was served on an elegant table setting. The gentleman who served breakfast was very professional and friendly. All of the staff were very helpful. Great bed and shower. The only improvement that would nice would be to replace the aging carpet in the room with a hard surface floor. We highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel muito bem localizado, dentro do centro histórico, muito acolhedor e agradável. Quarto Amplo e moderno.Com estacionamento em area reservada para o hotel. Funcionários muito gentis e prestativos. Café da manhã muito farto, atendimento na mesa com reposição imediata se necessário. Foi uma estadia que superou minhas expectativas

Definitely recommend this hotel but DO NOT book via Booking.com (see below reasons), go direct to hotels website. Staff at the hotel were outstanding, particularly the breakfast and reception (& bar) team. Hotel is in a great location for all the local shops, restaurants and attractions (the hidden entrance makes it difficult to find on day 1), it’s clean, and rooms a great size. If you're a light sleeper, take ear plugs, seemed to be a lot of early morning slamming, screeching etc. The reason I recommend NOT booking via Booking.com and go directly is because it’s a ‘partner offer’ scheme on Booking.com which basically it means you won’t be able to speak to anyone if you need to, as you’ll be passed from pillar to post. I tried to telephone Booking.com from Portugal and was cut off twice, when I got through was told it’s a ‘partner offer’ so need to speak to them, no contact details anywhere, ended up messaging their Facebook page and was told I needed to speak to the hotel (which I already had). Due to personal reasons we needed to cut our trip short 2 days and although the hotel were very accommodating and happy to accept the cancellation, no surprise we didn’t get any refund from Booking.com.

Clean, safe, in the middle of the historic center and because of that it is the very best location. Breakfast is wonderful and the staff is the friendliest I’ve ever met anywhere. They are willing to help and accommodate you always with a genuine smile on their faces. For sure, if I return to Guimaraes, I will stay right there again!
