The Met in Estepona is fantastic! The service is excellent, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, and David at reception is amazing – he really made us feel at home. Everything is spotless, and the customer service couldn’t be better. Highly recommend!

Service gerichtheid van het personeel is uitstekend! We moesten soms om wat dingetjes vragen en deze werden geregeld! Locatie, uitermate schoon! Wij hadden een kamer, begaande grond aan het zwembad, ideaal! Enige minpuntjes gezocht: kaart voor lunch, te weinig keuze in sandwiches! Prijs voor drankjes, net iets te hoog. Hotelgasten zouden een bepaalde discount moeten krijgen omdat ze daar ook verblijven! 5 sterren waardig. Muziek aan het zwembad tot laat in de avond, ook super!

We had what seemed to be a pleasant stay at this hotel, but what happened after checkout turned into a shocking and unacceptable experience. The hotel charged us a €5,000 deposit on August 5 and assured us that the full amount would be refunded at checkout. When we checked out on August 14, we expected to receive the deposit back minus the charges for food, services, and valet parking. Instead, on September 3, the hotel refunded only €940 — which was exactly the amount of our expenses, not the deposit. This means the remaining thousands of euros have never been returned. When we raised this issue, the hotel refused to take responsibility and blamed the bank. However, our official bank statement clearly proves that only €940 was ever refunded. The rest of the deposit is still missing. What makes the situation even worse is the hotel’s unprofessional and unethical behavior. They personally called us and asked us to delete our complaint, insisting that it was harming their reputation. They promised that if we removed the review, the full refund would be processed within two days. Trusting them, we took the review down. But after doing so, the hotel broke their promise and continued to claim — falsely — that the refund had already been made, confusing the €940 deduction with the deposit refund. This is not just unprofessional; it is fraudulent behavior. The hotel is essentially holding guests’ money hostage, making false promises, and pressuring customers into silence. No guest should ever have to go through this. Be extremely cautious: this hotel cannot be trusted with your money.

2/5 Our group’s 11-night stay was defined by inconsistency. Both facilities and service ranged from exceptional to far below what a “5-star” label promises. And if you remember only one thing: avoid room 1312 unless you bring candles or nose plugs — the odor never goes away. On the positive side, the pool is fantastic (heated, well-landscaped), and the bar, restaurants, lobby, and beach are beautiful — perfect for photos. Unfortunately, service was often slow or absent: long waits at the pool and bar, incorrect or missing orders at breakfast, overcooked food, and an odd sense of being pushed aside on “chic Thursdays.” Billing errors were common, so check every tab. Valet ends at 11 pm, unlike other hotels of this level. The beach, though stunning, was often left dirty with trash, glasses, or even unsafe items in the sand. Housekeeping varied wildly, from careful detail one day to barely making the bed the next. Though recently refurbished, the building feels old. Our room had broken outlets and weak A/C (eventually fixed) but a sewage-like odor that never left, despite multiple complaints. Management refused to move us, and housekeeping’s extra cleanings did nothing. For 11 nights, the smell ruined our room and, in many ways, our vacation. Would we stay again? No. Recommend it? Sadly no. The property has potential, but what looks good on social media fails in reality.
