"Good quality for the money"

8.0

Braganca is a good 3-star hotel close to the old city center. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was good. The only negative experience we had that when my daughter left her cell phone in a room and we found out about it only when we arrived to the next city in Portugal and called to the hotel they said that they could not find it. The service people should be honest with customers and returned the phone. That left a bad taste about this hotel.

"Very good, great shower!"

8.0

Good hotel. Very Convenient location. The room was big and so was the washroom. My wife and I have been traveling for over three months and seen a lot of washrooms and showers. This place had the best shower yet. All else was good

"good quality-price relationship"

8.0

t's an old 3 star hotel, it was almost empty when we were there, but it didn't matter because we liked it! The location is good, it's just outside the train station, and staff is very kind. Our double room was clean, there was no noise outside. We didn't need anything else. There was a breakfast for extra 4 euros, but we always had it outside, so, we don't know how it was. We were satisfied with our choice! Please do not complain because it's old if you go there :)

"A Good Deal in Coimbra"

8.0

I stayed at this older hotel in an older part of Coimbra next to the Coimbra A trainstation. It had a special charm befitting the area's nearby streets that date from the Middle Ages.My room was very comfortable and large with modern amenities. The staff communicated well with me in English and was very helpful. The breakfast was very good and generous.I paid 35 Euros for a single room.

Service in this hotel is extra-ordinary. The beds however are very hard, with pillows that are too flat. Breakfast is simple but nice.

"Good valua and location - that's it"

6.0

The hotel is well located in the centre of a small town of Coimbra, 2 hour drive from Lisbon. It has not been renovated for decades, I assume. Despite of not having safe deposit box, room service nor hair dryer in the room, it is ok for 2-3 days. The breakfast is modest, contiinental (no eegs, hot dogs...), the service just ok - poor English. Coimbra is very nice, take the boat trip and visit the University / a must! Restaurants in the city are quite poorapart from Italia (on the river bank) and Giuseppe and Joaquim, in the centre. Not sure if I would recommend this hotel

"This hotel is a real danger for your health.Avoid if you can."

2.0

I consider to be the worst three star hotel in Europe.Who gave three star to this dirty hotel? It is a shame for the owner and for local authority. They are interested to take a lot of money from the tourists without spending one euro for renovation. I stayed two nights as circumstances made it necessary but I was ready to check-out at 9 A.M.Nothing could have kept me there a second longer.Special thanks for the receptionist who refused to accept payment for three nights, soon after my arrival. The location is terrible, next Coimbra A station.A lot of buses, cars will pass day and night under the windows.Noise, polluation, dangereous traffic. The hotel has a dirty facade. The walls of my room have cracks. My room was very small, basic.Old furniture and a very short, uncomfortable bed.Room wasn't particularly clean, a lot of dust in the corners , on the window. The rest of the place shows its age and need a major renovation. But renovation is something that has never pass through the mind of the owner. The toilet was broken soon, before midnight, making a lot of noise.Next morning it was possible to change the room. They have wi-fi in the room, poor conection. Let's speak about the breakfast.Great chance for me to begin a diet; just bread was fresh, nothing else.Poor coffee, hard croissants, no fruits, no orange juice. The clients must drink chemical yellow limonade instead. The ham , marmalade and the cheese had a dubious colour. Finally, I saw on my yoghurt written the expiration date:June 14, 2012.[My arrival was on June 13].Next morning I can choose an yoghurt with expiration date 25 June. The food was kept many days or weeks in a fridge or in a kitchen.Trust me, you can see details looking to my pictures. Yes , it is a big tv in an enormous lounge, next the reception, may be for receptionists who prefer looking fascinated all the games .But I cannot understand. How was possible to pay 35 euro for a night? For what? Avoid, avoid, not worth that misery.Don't let lazy men to disturb your holidays.

"Very basic"

6.0

Good points: clean, reasonal location, inexpensive. Not so good points: very basic, small bedroom, minimal decoration, not very appealing. If your budget is extremely tight, it might be a good choice. Otherwise, there are other 3 star hotels that are better.
