Hotel Bahnhof Ausserberg

Staff was very friendly which is why I feel a little bad about the rating however I would not recommend for the price compared to what you get. The room was freezing, we turned up the radiators all the way but the room remained cold for the entire night. We also booked a room which advertised to slept four (2 single beds and a bunk bed- ie: 4 beds total). We also requested a baby crib over the phone and were told it wasn’t a problem. We arrived and were given 1 room with three beds and told we couldn’t fit our family in it and was asked to pay for another room as well. I declined because that wasn’t what we were quoted and the room was far bigger than most chain hotels in Europe that our family squeezes into without issues. It was disappointing that we were shorted a bed but I cut our losses because we saved nearly 200 franks by compromising not to argue much about the lack of bed we were promised and not being forced to pay for an additional room we didn’t need. In the morning we were treated downstairs friendly by the staff - again very nice people and made it feel very family oriented. They had a high chair waiting which was nice. The breakfast options were small compared to what I would of expected for the amount we paid. They offered some nice suggestions on things to do. When I paid for the bill I learned I had to pay another 12-15 franks for the baby crib... first I ever had to do this and we traveled to at least 20 different accommodations in the last year

Eine sehr familiäres, freundliches Hotelmanagement und Personal. Das Zimmer war zweckmässig eingerichtet - auch wenn (vom Eindruck her) etwas in die Jahre gekommen, sehr sauber gehalten und freundlich eingerichet (man fühlt sich wohl). Auch bezüglich Essen hatte alles gepasst => trotz kurz vor Feierabend blieben keine Wünsche offen (es war vorzüglich - Herzlichen Dank!) Danke für den netten und "feinen" Aufenthalt PS: Hatte ein Zimmer mit Süd-Balkon - kann ich nur empfehlen...

Den gamla delen av hotellet som vi bodde i var 'omodern'. Sängarna var dåliga/utslitna. Ingen AC och när vi var där var det mer än 30 grader så fönstret fick stå på vid gavel. Ingen toalett på rummet ,finns i korridoren och den delas av några rum. Duschkabin i rummet utan separat ventilation så det kan bli fuktigt i rummet. Frukost ok. 50m till jvgstationen så tågen kan höras / lätt att ta sig till stationen :) Lämpligt för vandraren annars inte mycket i närområdet; vi besökte Thermal Spa Brigerbad som var väldigt kul för barnen innan vi fortsatte till Glacier Express i Brig .

all was perfect; you can't go wrong; it has character; if you expect a sterile Hilton or plush Hyatt, it is not; for outdoor people and for a rustic environment in one of the best hiking areas of the world - it's what you need!
