Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Fengxian

A little bit remote from the city but service was excellent and room was was extremely comfortable

My wife and I just spent 10 days at this conveniently located Courtyard in Fengxian, Shanghai, and we enjoyed this Marriott hotel thoroughly and heartily. While all the hotel functions are adequately and professionally managed, its F&B stands out. We have dined at almost all its restaurants and the foods are wonderful so are all the services. The Pavilion on the first floor where we have our breakfast buffet serves one of the best breakfasts in Shanghai, and the services are wonderful under Lisa Ruan the restaurant manager. We recommend Courtyard Fengxian for both business and pleasure very highly without any qualification. In addition, the executive lounge on the 10th floor is also a very pleasant and relaxing place for elite members to be. We were booked into this hotel bt a tour company. I believe it is relatively new and there is construction going on everywhere, but it did not detract from the pleasant vibe. Roddy, the customer service manager was extremely nice! Their staff is outstanding! I believe the employees of this hotel genuinely enjoy their jobs and it shows. The food was good but hands didn't the service in this hotel is the best I've ever experienced! Roddy, Adam and I believe Carol were all top notch!

I recommend the packages with access to the business lounge and breakfast included - great value. The hotel is very centrally located with great opportunity to walk in the mornings. All the amenities you need - on-site spa and pool, lobby lounge open till 11p, swanky restaurant and great breakfast buffet. No complaints on the room and good connection on the wifi. All round very happy.

I spent 2 nights at this property. I was upgraded as a platinum member which was nice but room - especially couches were soiled and worn. It was extremely Hot in the room even though it was 25F outside. The AC didn't work thankfully I could open the windows - although it was a period of very unhealthy air quality in Shanghai. The breakfast was decent and lounge was ok but food wasn't really edible. It was convenient to what I needed. Water temperature in shower varies greatly.

Well.. i cant comment much about the Hotel accomodation. The room was awesome! Nice big clean room, the queen bed was awesome. I have a bad back pain (slipped disc) and this is obviously a plus point to the hotel. Oh ya, eemmm... the water heater will take approximately 10 minutes to head up. I only had 2 minus points : 1. The morning breakfast was not muslim/hindu/vegetarian friendly. O onl had yogurt drinks, coffea, and fruits 2. The so called western restaurant at 11th Floor was way way off! As a start, they keep playing the sane song for like 2 hours i was there. We had to wait for an hour for pur starter, and when it reach our table, food already cold. I believed the cook the food somewhere else. We had seafood risoto, poorly season. Like seriously, i had to powdered salt and pepper on every spoon bite! The hot chocolate!? It was like warm milk with a dash of choco..

Location is very good, at center of Fengxia district. Standard room is good for short stay for business. The only annoying problem is hot water at bathroom. Very difficult to be adjusted. Sometimes too hot, at night. But, sometimes could not have hot enough water in the morning. Internet connection is good. Front desk officers were very helpful....

As to be expected nice large hotel with marriot bedroom. Good quality bed. Hotel alteady shows sign of wear so start the maintenance. The food at the chinese restaurant was good but the restaurant was deserted and lacked any ambiance.
