Faros Villa small hotel & restaurant

Wonderful, relaxing with fantastic service, food, rooms and view. Couldn't ask for more.

The hotel is family run with a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It features an excellent pool and is only a few meters from a marvelous beach. Actually you can choose from several beaches. The traditional kitchen was among the best we tried in Naxos and Santorini. Rooms have very nice terraces in particular if facing the sea. We stayed there beginning of October.

My husband and I found this to be a wonderful place to stay to get away from it all. The associated restaurant has great food -- much more than the traditional Greek fare in tourist restaurants. And many of the products come from the owner's own garden. Local Naxos products are used to cook with. Food prices were very reasonable, as were the prices of beer and wine. The pool is fantastic and the views of the sea from the pool and the restaurant are wonderful. Family owned and operated with a friendly atmosphere. It has only 8 rooms so it is much more intimate than many places. Other guests were very lovely. Only drawback is that it is about 30 minutes by car from the main city on Naxos, but a rental car fixes all of that. And there is a mini-market about 3/4 miles down the road, which is walkable. It is located directly across the street from a very private and sand-bottomed beach, Alyko Beach. It was wonderful to go swimming on such a private, unpopulated beach. The water is clean and warm and does not get deep very quickly, so it feels safe. Our room was small, but adequate. The price was very good, especially compared to some other places we have stayed in Naxos. Besides--we spent the vast majority of our day outside -- either at the pool, the beach, or the restaurant. Highly recommended.
