Hotel Centrale Europa

A decent small hotel, with reasonable prices, in the centre of Catania. The rooms are somewhat old but adequately furnished, equipped with the essentials (TV, AC, toiletries) and with charming decorations. However the greatest advantage of this hotel is its location. Right on the Piazza Duomo, one of the safest and most lively areas of the city, and in walking distance from all the major sights. In addition, most of the rooms offer great views over the Piazza and the Cathedral. A very convenient accommodation I would certainly consider again at a future visit in Catania.

Se cercate un albergo semplice, ma che offre tutto quello che vi occorre, l'hotel Centrale Europa è quello che fa per voi. Le camere, un po' old style, sono confortevoli e pulite, molte con un balcone che affaccia sulla piazza della Cattedrale di Catania. Lo staff è molto accogliente e disponibile; la prima colazione viene servita in un vicino e ottimo bar. Rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente!

Great location, good staff, nice balcony, a good 200 year old hotel

Easy check-in, great location in Piazza Duomo, yummy restaurants nearby and attractions within a 20 min walk. My single room had toiletries, towels, breakfast included w/choice of regular or sicilian breakfast 7-10am, lobby always open and very nice desk clerk, guests allowed leaving passport (pick it up on way out), have to leave key in lobby when going out, pick it up on your way to your room (IMO a good safety practice). The public beach is a bit dangerous to get to by foot. Kinda chilly at night (February), maybe need an extra blanket. I recommend this hotel.

Struttura senza dubbio datata, ma che mantiene l’originalità propria di una struttura storica. Personale molto gentile e cortese. Posizione eccellente nel cuore della più bella piazza di Catania. Bonus per la colazione in una pasticceria eccellente a pochi passi dalla struttura. Dopo alcune perplessità iniziali..io ci ritorneri…

Zentrale Lage

I booked two rooms with balconies. The hotel gave our rooms to other people and shoveled us into 2 arctic rooms. No applology at all. The guy told us he could give us money back and asked us to leave. It is night time in Catenia, Sicily. There is no elevators. The guy did not allow my husband to park the car in front of the hotel so he could carry out luggage to 4th floor. The staff said that he would carry everything up. End up he only carried 2 suitcases. He forced me and my daughter each to carry one suitcase to 4rh floor. The room is terrible. Everything smell very bad,the mattresses, the chairs, the pillows, the beddings. The whole rooms smell like men's locker room. I have to use t-shirts to cover each pillow so we can sleep. After two nights, the t-shirts and our PJs all smell terrible.The bathroom is awful. Everything is loose and seems going to break in any second. The towels are just some very thin rags. The so called "full breakfast" is just one croissant and one coffee in a cafe across the square. Hotels.com rates it 3 star. All other web booking sites rate it only 2 stars. I feel it is much worse than motels in north America.

It was very nice. Enjoyed it very much. Excellent location with wonderful view of Piazza Duomo.

Centralissimo, con vista sul duomo. Posizione fantastica con bella vista sul duomo. Grande disponibilità per tenere i bagagli prima del check-in. Aria condizionata e piccolo frigo molto apprezzati. Pulizia della camera non perfetta.
