Residenza Carducci

Absolutely outstanding B & B. Can't wait to stay again.

A chance to see a more personal side of Italy, staying in a 500 year old, renovated house. Spacious, traditional accomodation and excellent breakfast in the hosts own home. A much more personal experience than staying in a hotel. Good quiet location, just over the river from the old city and only an easy 10 minute walk to the arena for the opera.

Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour de trois jours à Vérone à La Résidenza Carducci chez Monsieur et Madame Berni, des hôtes très serviables; le matin, dans une salle de séjour pleine de charme, d’intimité et d’histoire, il était très agréable de parler avec Giovanna devant un petit déjeuner délicieux préparé avec beaucoup de soin. La chambre spacieuse et son salon sont décorés avec beaucoup de goût. La résidence est située près du centre historique (10 minutes à pied). En résumé une superbe location, un lieu à découvrir.

une chambre d'hôte très agréable même si le premier accueil avec le monsieur était plutôt froid. Sa femme est, elle, charmante. La maison est très belle et très bien située. Il suffit de traverser le pont pour être en plein centre. Le parking est très appréciable mais il ne faut pas avoir une voiture plus grande qu'une Fiat 500.

A Residenza Carducci è uma agradàvel surpresa; se a gente olha por fora, tem vontade de sair correndo, mas, se entrar, vai ter uma excelente estadia. A casa foi lindamente restaurada pelo proprietàrio, que è arquiteto. O pessoal è muito simpàtico, a localizaçao é excelente e o cafè estava delicioso. Nota 10

It is an very old tratoria, with rough looks from the outside, but completely renovated and pleasant from within. There are just two guest apartments on the first floor and I must say this was a most comfortable setting I have ever experienced. The "room" gets you a bedroom, a living room/kitchen and a private balcony surrounding the inner garden). Very nicely decorated, everything one would need and a lot of free space. The service is not really a service. It is more of a guest host relationship, with a very good hosts. Not extravagant - but right in a sense it is hard to describe. Much recommended. Some practical information. We came by car and could park inside the building's ground floor (very narrow entrance). Easy to find. A great location to go explore Verona on foot. Some nice off the beaten track restaurants near by. All in all, I wish we could stay more.

Lovely hosts, great breakfast, huge room, good size bed and excellent location. Would definitely recommend. Only small negative was that the hot water was starting to run out at the end of the second shower each morning. To be fair my wife and I were probably up later than both the hosts and the other guests. This was also a very cold weekend in February so I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue at all for 99% of people 99% of the time.

A short walk over the Adige river takes you to this peaceful, spacious and characterful 'Residenza', with two spotless apartments in a renovated characterful house. Lots of space, books to read, a kitchen area to prepare snacks or full meals, a comfortable bedroom and a well-equipped bathroom. A delicious breakfast is provided by the hosts in their lovely living room - you won't need lunch later! Giovanna speaks good English, and knows the city intimately. The house is in a residential area and, although, it is on a main road, the rooms are very quiet, as they face over an internal courtyard. It's only a 10-minute walk, maximum, to the centre of the sights, and there are three wonderful sights within a stroll from the house: Santa Maria in Organa church, Giardino Giusti and the Teatro Romano. Highly recommended.
