Hotel Kuntur Wassi

The rooms were unique. Downfall hidden and not to many things open at least during the time we visited which was the beginning of April. Very helpful staff and good chef

Huge room, warm shower, delicious dinner and cold beer! A great place to start hiking in the Colca Canyon, and they let us leave our bags for two nights plus did laundry! The lomo saltado was amazing.

The food and service

Cannot recommend. Dirty floors and toilet. We slept in our clothing and rushed out in the morning. Pitiful

The room was clean, spacious and secluded from others.

We didn't have hot water in showers.

Christoph was super nice and welcoming!! we stayed here two times and I really liked both rooms, they were beautiful! I also like that they serve delicious avocado by breakfast.

to be honest I got really bad food poisening after I ate the appetizer fresh salad for lunch in the hotel restaurant. but just do not order salad and you will be fine! also, a weird situation occured. my boyfriend and the hostess calculated the price together at check out and he payed with visa. later on that day when we were in the bus in another city 2 hours driving away, someone was send into our bus to ask us for more money because the hostess made a mistake entering the amount in the pay machine. this was quite terrifying as she only spoke spanish and accused us of the mistake. in my opinion, the hosts could have done this in a more nicer way via booking.com

After a long day driving, we arrived at 10pm to a dark street and dark building. We had to ring the doorbell for at least 5 minutes until someone came to the door. Turns out he was sleeping. Definitely not the welcome we were expecting since the posting for this hotel says 24hour front desk. He showed us to the room and left us to go back to bed. All we wanted was a hot shower and sleep, but there was not hot water in sink or shower. The room was freezing but there were extra blankets so we slept warm. The next morning after breakfast we asked about the hot water and he came to show us the trick for hot water which we never would’ve figured out on our own, turning knobs on the sink and the shower whichever way at the same time. We were hiking colca canyon and checking out so we never got a chance to use it. I will say that the location is great if you’re there to hike the canyon. The small town is charming in the daytime and this hotel does have a nice feel to it. The posting for this hotel is just extremely misleading.
