Glynhill Hotel

First 2 nights great, dinner and breakfast very good, room clean and comfortable, but 3rd night spoiled by very loud party. Music being played at uncomfortably loud levels from 5pm to 11pm non stop. No problem with parties but does the music really need to be so loud every other customer can’t get to sleep until the party finishes?

Stay here for 2 nights while we were attending a wedding. What a great time we had. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable . I am Gluten free, Dairy free, Soya free and a lot of intolerances. All the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much for them. I also took my G/F crumpets for breakfast and that wasn't a problem also. A big Thank you to all the staff. Keep up the good work.

Although the room was lovely, the windows, sounded like they were open. Therefore Saturday nights festivities seemed like they were in our room. Kids running up and down the hall at midnight. You'd think the hotel would have rules and letting folks know after 10:00 pm it is quieter time..As the kids and adults were extremely loud until passed midnight.. The door slamming everytime someone entered or exited their room was awful. We had asked for a light bulb replacement but never received it.. Too noisy on the first floor older part of the hotel. Which is a shame.. The hotel itself is very lovely and breakfast, a buffet type, was good..

Close to the motorway system and bus routes into Glasgow, the Glynhill provides a good base. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the food is good as are the spa and pool.

Friends - Booked through a hotel break company. Overnight/BB & use of Spa. Under £100 on Easter Sunday. Perfect to getaway & relax. Greeted by a lovely wee lass called Katie, she was a joy to meet & very welcoming. We were allocated room 172, it was clean/tidy & functional for our one night overnight stay, however did look tired. We used the Spa facilities, which are somewhat dated/tired, also ladies changing room could have been doing with a regular clean as there was a lot of excess water lying around. We ate in the restaurant, had some lite bites and again this was satisfactory. Some areas of the hotel are definitely more modernised, which I think highlights the more tired areas. Breakfast was okay, there was plenty of choice. Any staff we met with whilst there, were all happy to chat & were very friendly/polite/helpful. Overall it was good enough for our day/night away.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming however the room was a bit tired and very small. The window looked on to the roof of what I think was the kitchen/dining area and there was some kind of fan unit which was pretty noisy at times throughout the day/evening and also the smell of cooking/food was all we could get when the window was open ( due to the room being so small we had no choice but to open the window when the room was warm). Breakfast was ok, but staff very polite and helpful all round the hotel.

Service was slow. Pool was too hot and smelt of sewage. Gym was sweltering!! Room was pleasant enough for the price.

Staff are fantastic, couldn't be more helpful, whether in the bar or at reception. Room clean and tidy. Lots of choice for breakfast. Pool was nice, but not very relaxing as children in the pool were very loud. Had a lovely afternoon tea there as well and food was delicious.

What en experience is all I can say. So booked in with my partner and 4 month old baby and was given my room. The path to the room was not acceptable for a baby and pram as I had to go up and down a few steps with bags and pram which were difficult. The room itself was nice but the people staying around us were not. ( sports team were staying around 100 of them) Went for dinner which was also nice but this is when things took a turn for the worst. Back in our room, settled the wee one for the night to be greeted by kids running up and down the halls screaming, this went on for hours. Finally had enough and went down to the reception about 11pm to be told they would come have words. Nothing happened and the noise continued will past 1am. Around 5am with virtually no sleep the team start running around the halls again, screaming and shouting. Went to the reception again around 7am to make a complaint about my stay to be advised they would speak to the coaches regarding this. This would not help me as I was only staying for the one night as it’s difficult to get time away with a new baby. Multiple people were also complaining regarding the noise with a few being moved rooms. I contacted the hotel manager to be advised I would not be entitled to a refund but I could rebook and get half price offers. I explained this was not acceptable as we spent good money the first time and with the experience we had with staff and the hotel why would we want to stay again. If you’re looking for a relaxing time away or have a family I would say stay away from this hotel as you will get zero help if things start going wrong.
