Glynhill Hotel

I chose this hotel based on location, 4 star rating and spa facilities. I was amazed at how basic and dated the hotel was when I arrived. The room was lower standard than a travel lodge and I had a ‘city view’ room. (City view means two velux windows roughly in the direction of the city. The word ‘view’ is a bit of a stretch! The side boards and tables in the room were a bit gross - it didn’t feel particularly clean because of the choice of decor and many bits old and repaired in my room. Small room and toilet is behind a glass partition. Pretty odd. I certainly won’t stay here again.

Room was nice enough. When i got here, the pool was closed as there wae too much chlorine abd the manager want there to ok it being open ..but we could still use the spa (a steam room and sauna). So I used the guest link corridor to walk down and it was honestly filthy. There was water dripping from tue ceiling, holes in the ceiling, feathers and dirt lying on the floor. I thought maybe I had came the wrong way, but nope. That is how they present their 'spa' to their customers. Im sitting here now at an empty closed pool.. mentally preparing to walk back to my room through the filth.

Room was tatty and not very clean, everything about the place was of poor quality and needs a serious update.

shower base was very slippery, bed was not very comfortable, no elevator.

I stayed at the glynhill hotel with platinum couches on a tour. As a single person I paid the single room supplement.. my room was clean .a little lacking in wardrobe space.a rack. Water pressure shower wise not strong not power shower but the water soft so could shower ok. Apparently this is normal. The viewing from the Window not good a tilled roof. The staff were friendly and efficient. The stay was BB and evening meal which include wine . As I am tea total the waitress manager made sure I got a soft drink every evening free of charge. The food was good and hot .. efficiently served breakfast was good and plentiful.. although someone needs to look at the juice area as wet floor as to low shelf no drain or drip trays.. the swimming pool was out of action one day i there my stay overall was good apart from view from room window. Ho and kettle was fixed to the wall with fixed power point..

Had a pleasant stay, rooms were comfortable ( a little dusty) check in could be quicker. We were already in a lengthy queue ( this was around 4.30pm) 15 minutes later a tour bus turned up and a representative from the bus jumped the queue and they had to start getting 20+ keys together. I do think they should have joined the queue like the rest of us or have more staff members. We were at a wedding and the bar staff was thin on the ground serving next door as well as us so it was a very slow service. Overall it's a lovely hotel and staff were lovely just seem majorly understaffed.

Good location for our need. Pleasant staff. Ample parking.

We stayed for two nights. Our room was at the back of the hotel with a view of the staff smoking area when we opened the windows the couple of inches that safety permitted. Unfortunately, opening the windows allowed more of the noise of whatever electrical item was running constantly outside. The room itself was small but comfortable and it was spotlessly clean. We didn’t get chance go sample breakfast as I was reluctant to d so pend an extra £26 per night for the privilege. I recently stayed in central Brisbane and paid less per night for an apartment room that was huge in comparison!
