Glynhill Hotel

Nice hotel in Paisley, service was good, but hotel is tired and needs updating. Disappointed to see the amount of food that looked to be going to waste at breakfast, and not sure it was eco friendly in any aspect. Good hotel, a little high in terms pricing, but would not stay there again.

The room was lovely but the only thing I found wrong with it was not warm enough.

Hotel staff were great, hotel is old but nice. Beds are terribly uncomfortable very hard.

We had a nice stay and a lovely meal in the restaurant. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. One little thing I would say that in our room there was a full length mirror which was great but no mirror near a point to use a hairdryer.

Booked for an overnight stay, looking forward to pool and spa. Building is lovely and was in a good location for us. We had a corner room with lovely big windows. On arrival, there was a typed note at reception to say the pool was closed. Our bedroom had bulbs missing and no bedside lights/lamps. I asked reception staff if they could be replaced,but this didn't happen. During the night when my sister got up to go to bathroom she fell twice trying to find a light switch. I'm sure she wouldn't have been the 1st guest to have this happen. Also only 2 plug sockets. TV and heater. None for hairdryer or phone. Overall the hotel feels dated with staff who do their job but don't really care about guest experience/feedback. We didn't eat here, so we can't comment on food.

Booked a 3 night stay ,big mistake when we got to the room noticed big scuffs on the walls, dingy dark brown wardrobe and desk . Bathroom filthy with black scum around the bath taps and shower screen, bathroom had a hole in and also had a squeeze so loud had to leave the door open all night once in bed the beds are the most uncomfortable either of us have ever slept in Hot water was hit and miss ,found previous guests open bottle of whiskey and comb, house keeping is non existent.booked because of access to pool note on reception to say pool closed when asked why we were not informed the response was “wish we had been told” reception staff could not have been any more disinterested. How this hotel is classed as a 4 star is beyond me needless to say we will never stay or book this hotel again .

We chose the hotel due to proximity to the airport and availability of a pool.On the pictures you get the impreasion of a country club hotel. Well, when we arrived a notice on the reception desk said the pool was closed until end of October. No explanation or apologies offered. The room was outdated, with cracks and make-shifts and even an old chewing-gum stuck to the bathroom door. The locationof the hotel is ina bit of a run-down area of Glasgow (rubbish everywhere on the street). Although not the hotel's fault, it might give an impression of clientelle visiting the hotel; the peiplein the room next door to us had such serious rows for hours during the night, I was close to calling the police. And of course zero noise insulation made us hear every word ... On top of that, there was very loud music to late at night from the event space. We wanted to have dinner at the restaurant, but when trying to book, where told a resevation slot was a maximum of 1 1/2 hours. Overall the impression was, the hotel was not so much interested in offering good hotel services, but trying to earn money with other services (restaurant, spa, event space, parking lot rented out to non-residents). What a shame, could be a great independent place to sta,y, but requires serious maintemance.

Spa and leisure facilities a huge disappointment. Booked for my daughter’s birthday and when we arrived there were signs that the pool was closed- no contact prior to our arrival that this was the case. Despite the notice dating from earlier in the week until into next month. I had also booked us a treatment each- girl was very nice but the treatment room was less than basic, products/facilities cheap looking.noise from rooms/corridor above spoil the relaxing ambiance. The spa had a sauna and steam room- we literally sat for 10 seconds in the sauna and the smell made us gag! Think my daughter described the smell as sweaty ar** crack 🤢. That put us off even opening the door to the steam room. The changing room, area around the closed pool was untidy and grimy looking. There is a huge issue with the upkeep of this area and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, The hotel- check in is at 3, busy but quick check in. We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast and food was nice. Staff- friendly enough . Been to a few tribute nights at the hotel over the years but I am not sure I would return as everywhere just looks tired and dated. Shame.

Communication was poor from beginning to end. Booked a Spa day and afternoon tea for two. Appointments changed 4 days beforehand to two separate times instead of one... apparently double booked. Did ask if we could get a bite to eat beforehand as the afternoon tea was pushed back to 4pm, however on arrival food only available between 10-12Noon. On arrival to changing room it had urine on floor, it stank and poor employee had to use a small detergent gun and cloth to clean! The pool area really tired and seats damp. No shower gel or shampoo available in the shower either!! Massage room poorly equiped and bright overhead lights so couldn't relax... offered cotton wool pads to defuse the light! Apart from the poor receptionist and trainee massage therapist who tried their best no one seemed to care about this...No manager available either? When arrived for afternoon tea... it was cancelled but reinstated by apologetic member of staff... thankfully it was good. When I complained the day after they took a week to reply and then offered a return trip to the spa as an apology....(sorry I never want to return), a week later a 15% discount..(spent £170)... ..really I just want them to adhere to basic hygiene, offer a profesional environment and make the customer feel welcome. Has Scottish hospitality really stooped to this new low... so disappointing, especially as I was treating a friend after a hard time. All these small things just amounted to a really poor experience. Ps on a positive the towelling robes were lovely...that was it
