Petra Segreta Resort & Spa

This 3-night stay was part of a 12-night trip to Sardinia, staying in 4 different hotels. Petra Segreta is one of those “getaway” resorts - the kind of place you imagine when someone uses the phrase “quiet retreat”. It’s located a couple of Km from the nearest town, down a road used by very few others. Out there, it’s all about the remoteness of the location. We chose this place as the 4th of 4 hotels in a 12-night trip for our 30th wedding anniversary & my birthday. It was intended to be the cherry on top. Unfortunately, it was a little bit of a let-down. The facilities were excellent. The rooms (standalone chalet-type 2 & 3 room blocks) were very well appointed with everything you would need & expect. The actual location of the hotel is stunning, if you like being out in the remote wilds (which I do). However, the prices of everything were a real let down. While the Pizza I had there was probably the best I’ve ever had in 30 years of visiting all parts of Italy, it was €22 (as opposed to my usual €10 in Como). A glass of red wine (no particular vintage) was €16. The cheapest bottle was €70. I’m well aware of the prices of 4* and 5* food & drinks so I’m not entirely surprised... but my wife and I were both disappointed. It let down the overall visit badly. My wife also felt that the staff were a little bit ‘pretentious’. This is not uncommon for a 5* place but we probably wouldn’t go back despite the location being among the best I’ve ever stayed at.

The views and the serenity of Petra Segreta are exceptional! The staff is welcoming and professional! Highly recommend a two or three days day to feed your soul.

I understand that we are just getting out of a very difficult period. That being said this is supposed to be a five star hotel and spa. Only 1 therapist on site. So forget a couples massage or any tratments 2 at a time. Service was just ok and pool area needs a facelift. Food was good .On a positive note,what a perfect relaxing site. The view was incredible. And an even better sunset. Overall good but not five star.

We loved everything about our stay ! The grounds , the rooms, excellent food, the architecture. Outstanding service !!! In one words it’s a magical place to stay in for nature and peace lovers . We will definitely go back and recommend highly Petra segregate .

Beautiful hotel, lovely setting, nice pool, enjoyed breakfast. The views to the Coast are amazing. Lovely village nearby. However felt evening restaurant very average.

We had a wonderful time at this spectacular hotel. Mauro and his team did great job of helping introduce us to get food and excursions as well as our time at the resort. Well worth the trip! Some of the reviews we read prior seemed a bit overly harsh. It’s a boutique hotel and we are on vacation. If something takes a few minutes extra, just enjoy the view.

The hotel is quite remote and the drive to it requires nerves of steel when meeting any Italian driving in the opposite direction but once you arrive - wow! Very peaceful and location is utterly beautiful. We had a basic room but it was still uber tasteful and very clean. Only downside a little tight to get around the four poster bed, pillows a bit soft / flat and the over-head shower could have been a little more powerful - other than that just amazing. Restaurant and views are unbelievable and the little village San Pantaleo is both beautiful and tasteful. Girls market is great for cashmere on a Thursday! Boys take your wallets!!!

Quality resort with high level of service and a top-draw dining experience.

We booked a suite on the last night of our stay to celebrate our anniversary and it was the perfect way to round off an incredible trip. Petra Segreta thought of everything - an incredibly relaxing destination - highly recommend.
