Hotel Palace

This is not anywhere near a 3 star hotel, more like a 1 star. The property needs a huge overchaul. The carpet in our was disgusting, with stains everywhere. The bathroom was at least clean but had an odd odour. I’m sure the cleaning staff do their best with what they have. There wasn’t a fridge or coffee pot to be found. The bed was ok with fresh linens but an old bed cover. No one uses them anymore because they are too hard to keep clean. The only redeemable feature was the location as it was right in the centre of town.

Had old fashioned single room with poor maintenance, television stopped working when the fuse blew room was on top of cinema no sleep all night due to the noise, excuse from Hotel staff was simply that they were celebrating Oscars, and was same for all rooms on floor 3

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was basic but clean. Stayed in February / March so not sure how good the aircon would be in summer? Otherwise a great location and everything is within walking distance.

Location of the Hotel is just perfect to visit historical part of Bologna. All major attractions are in a walk distance. Also, environment of the hotel brings you back in time in terms of design. But service and approach of hotel team is very modern.

Not usually one to complain, but this hotel was extremely poor. Plug sockets didn’t work, towel rack hanging off, completely depressing room in the attic and looks like it hasn’t been updated since 1970. There’s old furniture stacked up on every floor, pushed to one side. Elevator wasn’t working, so I called room service, just once, and was told to use the vending machine on floor 2, cash only, for water. Staff were nice, but the hotel needs a massive revamp. Pay more, stay somewhere else.

We enjoyed the quiet retreat after a day of sightseeing that this hotel provided.

The facility service was impeccable. They seamlessly arranged transportation to a hidden gem restaurant in San Giovanni, Osteria del Mirasole, and facilitated my transfer to the airport. However, the cleanliness of the washroom could use some improvement. Overall, my stay was peaceful and comfortable.

Room we were allocated on arrival was tired and in need of TLC. Couldn't sleep for the noise from cinema below. Discussed with staff and were moved to a much nicer, quieter room. Breakfast good with value and choice and great central location.
