L'Isola

Gem of a find. A short drive from Civitavecchia port and less than a hour drive to FCO Rome airport. a 10 min walk to train station and a little further to public beach. Parking almost at front door and lots of places to eat around square where hotel located. Other shopping not much further. Area clean and safe walking. Nice view of sea from room balcony.

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel L'Isola one night before our cruise. Quaint and quiet little hotel, family operated. No elevator but owner lugged our two very heavy suitcases up to our room. We felt safe and welcomed. The room was very clean and had a great view of the ocean and of a cathedral. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We did not arrive until 11pm, the staff suggested we check out late (no charge) so we can enjoy breakfast and the amazing view of the beach and castle. We had an amazing time and will definitely return!

Excellent. The room was perfect. I had 2 windows in the room....one overlooked the ocean and the other church & restaurant. Nice breeze. Very clean rooms & everything worked in the room. My husband & I went back a second time and they were nice enough to give us the same room 204. Loved it. Breakfast was excellent. Excellent service and staff was very helpful and friendly. Short walk to the beach. The beach is beautiful. We rented chairs & an umbrella. Public washrooms & restaurants close by. The restaurants next door to the hotel is excellent. We had dinner there twice. Will definitely go there again.

Such a cute little town - really glad we stayed here. The hotel is situated on the Piazza. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a little tired and could do with a refresh however the view from my bedroom window over the sea and the friendliness of the staff more than make up for the outdated decor. If you are reading the reviews for this hotel and wondering whether you should book here; then you definitely should book - its fantastic.

We were greeted by a very friendly & funny gentleman. He spoke perfect English and gave us a short history of the town.

Our stay was unfortunately too short to fully enjoy this sweet town& surrounding area. Train station was a 10 min walk, 1 he. Trip to Rome. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was plentiful & delicious.

We stayed at the Hotel recently and were very pleased with our room – it was spacious and had a stunning view of the sea and palm trees from our own balcony. The owner was very friendly and spoke far better English than I did Italian. He was also very helpful when I got a nasty mosquito bite – directing me to a pharmacist and checking the medication to make sure there hadn't been any confusion in translation. The breakfast room was lovely and bright, again with a sea view. There was a choice of cereal, pastries and the European's favourite cheese and ham. I would have preferred some fruit options but from my experience I know that's often not the case. Coffee was made to order from a proper barista machine.

Great location for a nights stay away from Rome. Plenty of restaurant choices, close to the beach.
