B&B La terrazza sul mare

Room small, no terrace. Family is lovely, very friendly & accommodating. Location is great for beach but not many restaurants nearby. Must travel to Siracusa to eat.

Very clean and well presented, friendly family run b&b. Literally on the seaside, which is rocky, but beach only 50m away. Very good breakfast with local food and fruit. Lots of local recommended restaurants with discount cards. Very good seafood, but a little walk away in more central Avola. Highly recommended.

The hotel was wonderful. The staff was great and they did everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.The hotel was very quiet and our room had a magnificent view of the sea and was within walking distance to 2 beautiful beaches. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I was there on a trip with a friend but it would also be a perfect hotel for couples.

+ friendly and helpful staff , good breakfast , air conditioned rooms which is important in July and August , - location - this area is rather popular holiday destination for Italians . Not too many tourist attractions are located close enough . Avola is not worth seeing. Syracuse trip takes approximately 30 min by car . Unfortunately there is no direct access to the beach from B&B and you must walk 3-5 minutes . The beach itself is nothing special. There is only one restaurant in the walkiing distance .

Pleasant B&B at one end of a series of beaches at Avola. Quiet location with a private garden and a path to the beach.

Andreas was very helpful. This B and B is idealy located to tour the south east. We had an excellent holiday and would recommend it to all - a car is essential, unless you prefer to visit the same beach every day.

This guesthouse has such potential. The staff and owners are charming and helpful. They even help us print out boarding passes. The parking is secure and the breakfasts in the garden were wonderful with lots of home made pastries ans preserves. Now for the room. We were on the second floor up 4 flights of steps. Not the best room, for 70 year olds carrying suitcases. No help was offered. The room proved to be a family room with two bedrooms, big with old furniture. We immediately asked to change, but were told it was not possible. The bathroom smelled of bad drains and we had to keep the fan running to take it away. It did improve. However the bed did not. It was a board. After a sleepless night, it was either find another place or do something. I found a quilt which I put under the sheet and this helped. I would not recommend this hotel unless there are better rooms.

All aspects of the hotel are excellent with perhaps one slight exception. Our stay was very comfortable with a good room and excellent location. Our hosts were very helpful. Breakfast overlooking the Med was very nice. Only one problem with a guest next door who knocked on our door at 1.30 in the morning,when we were fast asleep. It was difficult to understand what he was saying but apparently our air conditioning unit (attached to his wall) was too noisy for him.

We spent the last three nights of our honeymoon at La Terrazza Sul Mare, owned by a charming and friendly family. Upon learning it was our honeymoon, Salvo – who speaks English well – immediately upgraded us for free to a room with a terrace when we arrived, as it was low season (October). Despite it being low season, it was warm enough for us to make use of the private beach below, and the family gave us chairs to bring down there. Avola's stretch of beach is still beautiful and seems rather untouched, so hopefully the boardwalk they are building above won't make the place too touristy! Anyway, the B&B was a lovely experience, and Salvo and his family recommended to us great places to visit (Cavagrande, Calamosche particularly) and places to eat in the region. An adorable ginger cat also awaits you nearly each evening when you return to the B&B, on its doormat. We highly recommend La Terrazza Sul Mare!
