Hôtel du Château Annecy

Get ready to be awake on the smell of freshly backed pastries 🥐 at 7 am. The hidden gem is located on a small hill next to the must see Musée-Château d'Annecy. My room was on the second floor with beautiful city views. The breakfast was decent. There are two beautiful cats sitting usually at the entrance or on the outside terrace that has beautiful views.

My wife and I travelled with another couple and stayed at this hotel for two nights before heading to Chamonix. This hotel was better than what we hoped for and that was a lot! The family that runs the hotel were very welcoming and accommodating for four Americans that don't speak french. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and breakfast was great! We had planned on visiting a couple of restaurants for breakfast, but ended up eating at the hotel. The food was very good and the coffee was even better! The day we had to check out and leave, the hotel let us store our luggage for several hours until we had to catch our bus. Some others have mentioned that the hotel is a bit of a climb from the train/bus station and that is true. If you have problems climbing hill/stairs, you might want to look at using a taxi (I have no idea what that costs). The walk isn't bad until you get close, but they are at the top of a pretty steep hill. Of course, that makes the views from the hotel even better!

The hotel staff were friendly, the hotel was in the old town and close to restaurants etc. but is situated on top of a hill so is far enough away to be quiet.

This is a great little independent hotel. The rooms aren't huge but they're comfortable and I had enough space to unpack my stuff. The bathroom was also good. Since the hotel doesn't have air conditioning, I was concerned about heat but I got lucky and it wasn't too warm and there was a decently sized fan in the room. There were some kids celebrating something near my window one night but it was only one night and fortunately they moved on before I went to bed. The shutters would have helped block the noise but I wanted to leave the windows open for air, which it was quiet enough to do. I was disappointed that I got a room with a view of the neighbor's roof instead of the rooftops and Alps but so it goes. I loved having their delicious breakfast on the terrace. I can't recommend that highly enough, at least once or twice. I considered staying at Ibis Centre Vieille Ville but I'm glad I didn't. I like the location of this place so much better and it's a much more interesting hotel than the cookie cutter Ibis. Note: this place is at the top of a hill, why it has such great views, so getting there requires some climbing. I'm not that strong but I'm committed so it wasn't a problem.

We had a great stay. Small rooms but that did not matter to us. Friendly staff and a lovely old building.

This family hotel is really well located. The staff are friendly. The beds are quite small (140m ) by Anglo Saxon standards but the mattress is of a good quality and the room even had a kettle (rare in France). The continental breakfast was copious. There are dogs and a cat so be wary if you have allergies. I would go back again!

Me and my partner really enjoyed the hotel. The staff were friendly and the room was very comfortable and really reasonably priced. It also has a very cute little breakfast balcony with great views as well as bikes to rent. Everything we could have wanted!
