Hotel Garni Evido KG Salzburg

After reading some reviews online (after already booking) I was worried, we arrived after 4 and the room wasn’t ready, the man on reception quickly gave us a different room, rooms are basic but clean. It was very warm when we arrived but we were able to turn the radiator off and there is a fan in the light too. The area around the hotel looks rundown but it has fantastic transport links and is only a 20minute walk to the tourist areas. I would be happy to stay there again if I return to Salzburg.

Dirty. Look for another hotel

We tried to leave luggage there overnight while we went to a different city but they were very uncooperative and unhelpful, argumentative and made it sound like if we left it there they almost wouldn't guarantee that it would be there when we got back. Also, when I first got there they couldn't seem to find my reservation. It was very noisy from the street till about 1:00 in the morning. The pillows were awful and the twin bed basically had a hole in the middle of it so it couldn't be slept in which made us have to crowd together in a different bed.

Room, bed, cleanliness were reasonable 3 star level. Rest was 1 star at best .

This hotel is in a convenient location to the train and is close enough to walk to the town centre.

Property was very clean. For a one night stay it was great location close to train station, walkable to the major areas, Christmas markets, free breakfast.

Paid in full in advance but upon checking in had to pay a surprise €2 per person ‘city tax’ even though I already paid tax in the original booking through Expedia. Room was clean but smelt very strong of cleaning chemical and floor was sticky from so much cleaner used. Breakfast was good.

Good location! Easy to walk to train and popular sites. Strong smell of cleaning supplies throughout hotel. If you can save money by opting out of the breakfast I would recommend doing so. I couldn’t find anything I liked.

I was absolutely dreading staying 2 nights here after reading the reviews and I’m not sure if they’ve made renovations or if visitors have just been mega harsh. If you look at our previous stays you can see we’ve stayed in some amazing hotels and also knows which cheaper hotels are adequate (Ibis’s - can never go wrong) however this exceeded all expectations and actually couldn’t fault it. The room was spacious, and clean. On checking in we just had to wait 10 minutes which we were 10 minutes early. The staff were fine. Our beds were comfortable and the towels were changed the next day. You only have hand soap and shampoo dispensers but that’s quite common in these days. There were no coffee facilities in the room other than a kettle but again not uncommon. We had free breakfast which was your basic continental but not complaining for free and I just went for the coffee machine which had plenty of options! The shower head could have done with being updated but the water pressure and temperature was perfect. Great location and overall I’m very happy with our choice. Breakfast is excellent. Check-in only accepts cash payment which is very inconvenient.
