Scholars Townhouse Hotel

Love this hotel. I have stayed there many times! Lovely history attached to it. Good location as well, can easily walk into the town of Drogheda.

There’s absolutely nothing I don’t like! Highly recommend.

Had the most beautiful afternoon tea there yesterday with friends, the food is most definitely comparable with an afternoon tea experience I recently had at the Shelbourne Hotel...at a fraction of the cost. Really well done, everything was delicious 😋

I highly recommend Scholars Townhouse Hotel for a small party/ special occasion. I booked the West Wing function room for a birthday celebration for 24 people. The food was amazing- a beautiful 3 course meal with plenty of options. The management and staff were great to deal with and the service was fantastic.

Myself and the team had a fantastic dinner and a wonderful evening at the cozy bar. Staff are just so friendly and a big shout out to Anna. What a wonderful person. Regards Eoin Fagan

Room and bed was very comfortable even though bed sloped to one side. The shower was spacious and had good pressure - I loved washing my hair under the big rain showerhead. Tea and coffee are complimentary and can be ordered to your room, even though we didn't use this service.

No body cream! The price of €200 per room per night excludes breakfast. As repeat visitors, not so long ago we spent €120 for the room AND breakfast. This rate of €200 excluded breakfast and I feel is pretty extortionate. The room is comfortable, but definitely not worth €200 on it's own. There is nothing special or luxury about the room, so if hotels outside of Dublin are charging these rates we're in trouble as a country. Also, we spent quite a bit of money at Sunday Street for dinner and Peggy Malone's for drinks, and back at the hotel in the residents bar a lot more as well. There is no initiative to promote discounts for residents at the hotel to spend money in the venues owned by the same owner as Scholars. I would have liked to seen a €10 off dinner at Sunday Street as an example. Even though it's well positioned, it's an overpriced, albeit comfortable stay. I have stayed in the same for less - not worth the extra money.
