An awesome location, newly decorated rooms and a great pool to cool off in after checking out the Carcassonne area.

"French leave"

8.0

Hotel is in a quiet location just next to the Narbonne Gate of La Cite. The rooms are petite and there is only a small alcove for hanging up clothes, however they are perfectly comfortable. There was a very wide selection of fruit, pastries and meats in the breakfast buffet. Everything was fresh and delicious.

"Great location for the City"

8.0

Great spot. Right on the doorstep of the Walled city with its shops and eateries. Great food. Great piece of history. Typically pricey but a nice hustle and bustle and big enough to find yourself on you own. The hotel room was a bit smaller than we are used to and when we turned up it was like a sauna. Soon sorted. Big enough for an overnight stay but couldn't spend more than one night due to smallness. Continental breakfast, no chef. Adequate. Pleaseant staff. Clean. Good power shower.

"Good base to explore old Cacassonne"

8.0

Ideally placed for short walk up to the old Cite. Only reason for not max points, no coffee/tea making facility in room (although available in lobby) and room rather too warm in Feb (but no great problem as opened window, but rather a waste of energy). Nice polite staff and good breakfast, and would be happy to stay there again. Recommended!

"Nice hotel"

8.0

Pleasant hotel in great location for access to restaurants and the old city. Service was great. Breakfast good too - nice to have a boiled egg as well as the standard continental choice. Parking was easy. On the downsides - Wifi was poor - hard to connect and stay connected and slow. No France24 or other English speaking channel on TV. Pool is quite deep and its position, surrounded by buildings, means it is colder than you might want. Nonetheless, these points won't matter to all and it was a great hotel for a couple of days tour of Carcassonne.

"Great Location"

10.0

This is a well placed hotel for the major attraction of the town - the Cite de Carcassonne - only about 200m away. The overall reception was good though there was one receptionist who was clearly not in the right job. His manner was less than helpful. We had 5 nights in what seemed to be one of the larger rooms of the hotel with direct access to the pool, which was lovely. Two days was adequate to see the old town but there were lovely walks to be had at the nearby Lac de la Cavayere, a visit to Abbeye de Saint-Hilaire and to gardens at Limoux. The short boat trip on the Canal du Midi was little basic and I wouldn't recommend it for the enthusiast. Longer trips are, however, available. Drinking and dining venues are convenient and plentiful in the old Cite. Generally, the more you pay the better the quality and the more varied the menu but all we tried were good. Don't miss out on the lower town of Carcassonne. It is also charming and the experience a little less touristic.
