Landhotel Schwarzes Ross

Excellent place to stay for a visit to Franconia (especially Rothenburg ob der Tauber). Our room was excellent for a family, with its own dining room and kitchen. The town is very quiet, and it cools off nicely at night even during a hot summer like this one. The atmosphere of this hotel is quite appealing, because it is more like a farm complex with sections for extended family to stay. The breakfast was outstanding. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price is quite reasonable. I will certainly remember this hotel for future trips with my family.

Very historic guest house.

My wife, 7 year old daughter and I stayed here for 1 night. It is a cute little town just outside Rothenburg ob der Tauber. We had a 2 story 2 bedroom place with full kitchen and living area. Everything was wonderful and the staff was fantastic. If I had only one small issue it was that there were a few loud vehicles that came through early in the morning. Not a big deal. Breakfast was nice. Plenty to eat. This was a gem for us and we loved not staying down in the touristy parts of the city. Wonderful place

We arrived late at night, and had to ring the doorbell to have the front door opened. A nice gentleman greeted us and helped us check into our room. The room we had was lovely. Soft comfortable beds, a pretty spacious modern bathroom, and a small balcony. It was the best night sleep I've had in a long time. Breakfast was a nice. There were a few options for bread, meat, cheese; also yogurt and cereal, and of course coffee and tea.

We booked this hotel very last-minute, since we driving across Germany and kind of deciding where to go the day-off. So, we didn't expect to find such a jewel without having planned for it! This hotel is a lovely place, the owners are such nice people, the rooms are very comfortable, and they provide for all modern needs within this traditional, rustic home. The decoration is antique and gorgeous, really reminds you that you are in the heart of rustic Germany. But TV, toilet, showers, those were all new and in perfect condition. The breakfast was delicious, offering many options of both warm and cold meals. Location is amazing, less than a 10-min drive to Rothenburg ob der Taube. And they recommended us a place for dinner that was really great. Our stay was sadly short, but it was amazing, even almost surreal. The area is beautiful, and we hope to return and stay here again sometime!

Amazing hotel, friendly staff and great breakfast. Large room and very nice bathroom.

My boyfriend and I were in the area and came across this hotel. We loved the area so much we stayed a second night. It’s a beautiful-historical hotel with a quaint bar within the eating area. Breakfast was excellent.
