Riad Hala

The riad is very easy to find (it is signed) from the blue gate and only about 3 minutes walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful and answered all my questions before and during our stay. They stored our luggage after check out and were able to arrange a transfer to the airport for €20. The terrace has AMAZING views over the city and countryside and it was a joy to watch the sun rise and set from here. The main area of the riad is beautiful. Breakfast (9-11)was simple but good - coffee, omelette and some bread/pancake with butter and marmalade and honey. (no juice). Our room was on the top floor..a bit of a climb. If you have mobility issues make sure you get a room on the bottom floor. The street that the riad is on has food markets and quite a few restaurants to chose from. It is about a 20 minute walk to Place Rcif, which is where many of the walking tours start from. This riad is pretty much at the top of the medina so everything is downhill away and uphill back. The air conditioning unit was quite noisy but provided good warmth. There were extra blankets for the bed. The call to prayer was quite loud in our room (top floor), so I would bring earplugs for sleeping. I had to request a hairdryer. There was no soap in the bathroom, only a bottle of shampoo in the shower.

Small suggestions to improve a very enjoyable stay - include fresh orange juice with breakfast, have a table or shelving in the bathroom for storing toiletries and include a diffuser in the bedroom/bathroom as a slightly musty smell at times.

El desayuno te lo preparan al momento con mucho gusto. Agradecimos mucho que el hombre de recepción nos acompañara al a taxi a las 4 am de la mañana por nuestra seguridad, sin duda repetiría.

De ontzettend mooie Riad met een dakterras en het perfecte uitzicht over de Medina. Je waant je in deze riad in een andere tijd. Hetzelfde geldt voor de slaapvertrekken die ruim zijn opgezet en waarvan er een aantal zelfs met hemelbed. De locatie is ook perfect gelegen in het bruisende Medina zonder dat je enige overlast hiervan ondervindt in het Riad. En de locatie is ook perfect voor uitstapjes buiten de Medina. We zijn ontzettend gastvrij ontvangen en geholpen. ‘ Shokran’, Wij hebben genoten!

Als we iets moeten noemen: De harde bedden maar dat went wel en het ontbijt was ontzettend lekker maar er was weinig variatie. ( bv geen fruit)

Abdrahim è un host fantastico, ci ha accolto in un tipico riad bellissimo offrendoci subito un ottimo tè, è stato molto premuroso con noi, è stato gentilissimo nel prepararci la colazione da asporto. Là ragazze che prepara le colazioni è molto gentile e sorridente. Il riad molto bello, si trova nella via centrale e dispone di una terrazza dalla quale ammirare Fes!! La nostra camera era veramente spaziosa. Lo consiglio se volete vivere in esperienza a Fes sentendovi a casa!!!

El personal, y a destacar Abdrahim, muy atento y siempre a lo que necesites. Hace lo necesario para que tu estancia sea cómoda. Muchísimas gracias por todo.

Great location right on the main street (Fes can be a bit scary at night so we were very happy we did not have to walk in tiny streets to get back to the hotel). Staff was flawless with good communication and available for clearing up our doubts. Flexible check in was as well possible. For 10€ each they also made us dinner (we arrived a bit late so we asked to have dinner at the property) which was very good and we ate on the amazing terrace of the riad (I really recommend to go there to watch the sunset). Last but not least, on our last day, the host gave us for breakfast two amazing brioches coming straight from the bakery.

Only weakness of this place was the room which looked a bit unkempt but it had everything you need.
