Holiday Inn Kunming City Centre by IHG

Little bit old

We are completely satisfied with the hotel. Good rooms with comfortable beds. Good and plentiful breakfast. The hotel is well located in the city center and close to Kunming Metro or a reasonable walk to many attractions in the city center.

We stayed nine nights and they changed towels every day and sheets a little too often to live up to the sustainability goals that were on a sign in the bathroom.

It was upgraded to the Deluxe Twin Room by Kitty, big spacious room, comfortable beds and nice view of the street.

Air cond is a bit too warm.

Surprised to see that the room was not cleaned when we returned in the evening!

Unexpected upgrade to a suite. Thank you. Buffet breakfast was very good (except for the oatmeal), and I especially enjoyed the individually prepared omelette each morning. The Reception staff member who spoke English and assisted me in making arrangements for the departure morning's international train trip to Vientiane, Laos, was very much appreciated. Fantastic.

The 'oatmeal' was terribly watery: more milk rather than cooked oats, which is the main ingredient. The hotel's wifi reception/coverage was awful, and meant that I could not receive email or access usual websites from soon after check-in. Furthermore, there was NO, none, zero, access to TV English language news channels. At a Holiday Inn hotel, I simply EXPECT this service.
