Sossusvlei Lodge

Very well situated so close to the National Park without being inside. Nice bedrooms and bathroom, great pool, good bar and activity centre. The buffet was a little lacking in my opinion the dinner was mainly tough bbq or stir fry and the veggies were overcooked by about 2 hours. The breakfast buffet better. The lunch buffet (really there are no options round here) was far from inspiring and very expensive for what it was. I ate some Greek salad and it was more than $300..the bar food was only served later on, and did seem better.

I had a good two night stay here. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable, with a large bathroom and shower area, as well as a shaded verandah to sit out. The location of the lodge next to the entrance to the park was convenient for getting in early for the dune hikes. The wifi is somewhat limited, only available at the bar area, but reasonable speed. I went for a sundowner drive, which was pleasant with snacks and wine/beer, and a view of the sunset over the dunes. The dinner buffet was reasonably good. The choice of salads was quite extensive- from regular leaf salad, to different vegetable based salads (cauliflower, beets, beans) and even a cheese salad, as well as roasted onions, red peppers. The main featured a grill station with game meats, sausage and beef, which was very good, with roast potatoes, vegetables and rice. There was also a fish station and a stir fry station which i did not try. For dessert- a good cheese selection as well as very delicious desserts, ranging from chocolate mousse, to fruit tarts, to cakes. The breakfast in the morning was also good- egg station, bacon, sausage, good fruit selection, juice- although the coffee was effectively brown water. Overall a good stay

Some confusion at check in. Rooms large and well equipped (no hot water on 2nd morning).Dinner was a buffet seated outside, beef and game offering , meat tough, buffet side dishes OK, cutlery quality poor, no steak knife to cut the tough meat offerings. Wi-Fi ,weak signal and only available in the bar. Breakfast buffet OK, hot dishes chef battled to keep up with demand, 4 X 4 excursion to the Dead Vlei and the large dues, good, well guided and driven

Right at the Sossusvlei park gate. Beautiful desert setting. Welll laid out with convenient central area for dining, bar and services.

We didn’t stay at the Sossusvlei Lodge Hotel but booked a sundowner drive which left at 16:45 and lasted a couple of hours. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and took us to a great spot where we could climb up a little to get a better view and then set up a table with snacks and cold drinks for us to enjoy whilst we watched the sun go down. Cost was circa £18 per person and included the snacks and plenty of drinks (wine, beer and soft drinks).

Luxurious with a spectacular location, what a treat! My family and our friends loved everything about this place and we were very happy to have three nights there. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and very comfortable with incredible views. We loved the viewing tower for the beautiful sunsets, and swam every day in the pool. The buffet breakfast and dinner were unbelievable too. Thoroughly recommend this place!

A superb accommodation offering backed up by wonderful staff with a genuine caring for their guests. Great food offering at breakfast and dinner with ample choice and selection. We had an amazing stay! Room 145 with the little pool was stunning! We used the pool everyday. The room is super spacious, beautifully decorated, every detail is perfect. The food was very good with a big variety to choose from. We took one of their activity flights to see an aerial view, highly recommend it!

The team was friendly but not well coordinated.
