Very expensive for what it is. I was led to believe that we paid extra to get larger bed then to discover at the arrival that all beds are the same size. Very small rooms too.

The location was excellent, and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Since it was my boyfriend's birthday, the hotel kindly decorated the room with birthday wishes, which was a lovely touch. We also appreciated the spacious bathroom and the great selection of tea and coffee provided in the room.

Our room faced the road, and even with the windows shut, we could hear people shouting all night. Because of the noise, we had to keep the windows closed, which made the room uncomfortably hot, and unfortunately we could still hear people outside. ​Despite staying for two nights and leaving the "please clean" sign out, housekeeping never touched our room. When booking the room, I mentioned that we were bringing our dog and requested a dog-friendly room. I received an email stating we had been assigned a dog-friendly room, but it suggested I should have called before booking. This was not mentioned in the hotel description. We were charged £40 for the dog, which felt excessive given that no dog bed or bowl was provided. In our experience, other hotels charging a similar fee always provide these basics. We would have mentioned this in person, but when we checked out, the receptionist simply took our keys and wished us a good day without asking how our stay was. Because of this, we didn't feel there was an opportunity to share our feedback at the time.

Loved the view and the bar area and outside veranda has the best views of the sea and beach. Great for people watching. Central to everything.

The price of the room was expensive for what you got we didn’t have a sea view we were opposite. Room was baking windows open then drop down shut. I know it’s an old building but every time the people upstairs moved upstairs everything creaked and it was loud and continuous all night. We were on the 2nd floor and right next to cleaners room banging started from 8 which was hard to ignore. £205 for a night I would expect to be able to sleep and have airflow in and out easily.

Location was a 10, near the sea, and in the best part of town. Beautiful decor, lovingly refreshed but still maintaining character. Pub downstairs is top notch. Breakfast is brilliant. Can't wait to go back.
