"very happy with the stay and the position was second to none,"

10.0

Our room was lovely overlooking the sea with a balcony. I had alter my dates of staying at the hotel and when I swopped dates could not get the same type of room as previously booked, the lady promised that if a cancellation came she would swop our room, which she did and it was a lovely surprise, so a big thank you to the lady who did that, we really appreciated it.

The public car park you need to use was a nightmare to pay for we were they for ages trying to sort the payment machine. Wish you could just pay at the hotel like some hotels do

"Avoid room 34 if you are over 65yrs of age."

6.0

Everything outside of our room was very good, eg., breakfast, bar, reception, etc. The facilities within our room were good, eg., large bathroom, coffee machine, bed

The room size was small with just enough room for the bed with only a narrow passage between the bed and a wall, and similarly a narrow passage between the foot of the bed and a wardrobe/chimney breast. The location of the room (Room 34, on the 3rd floor) is up in the eaves of the building, with 48 steps to access it (there is no lift). This room is entirely inappropriate for for elderly customers especially those with cases to carry & with health issues. The lactic acid pains kick-in after 32 steps (2nd floor); my wife and I are both in our mid-seventies and it was a horrible gruelling experience; not to reveal too much I have badly scarred lungs with heart issues and the climb was absolutely exhausting. We asked for a room change but this could not be accommodated. The hotel, I would recommend, should show a LARGE FONT warning for this room to clearly warn of the climb up to the room and the small size of the room for elderly folk. I would reiterate that everything about the hotel was good with the exception of Room 34 on the 3rd floor. The size and altitude of the room spoilt our enjoyment.
