What a beautiful location this wonderful hotel is in. The grounds are so pristine and attractive. The highlight for us, was seeing a hippo grazing on the riverbank, whilst we were having dinner in the restaurant. What a memory to have. The only negative is the flooring in the shower, it was horrible, all black & rubbery😩.

Our stay at Hippo Hollow Country Estate was wonderful. We were there during a time of high water in the national park, and we couldn't enter the park at first. The team around the reservation manager and reception did everything they could to ensure we still had a cultural experience. Our bungalow with a garden view was spotlessly clean and very quiet, and monkeys even came by in the garden. A definite highlight was the visit from a hippo during dinner. Elephants can also be observed during breakfast. Moreover the staff is wonderfull and very friendly! We will come back as soon as possible
