Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa

From the moment we arrived at Cresta Mowana Safari Resort, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. I was travelling with dear friends from Canada (a couple and their son), and this trip will remain one of our most treasured memories — largely thanks to the outstanding care we received. A very special thank you to Malebogo Sechele, who elevated our stay from excellent to extraordinary. From day one, the service felt personal, thoughtful, and genuinely warm. Malebogo took specific care of us, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. She seamlessly arranged our game drives, transfers, and even organised our unforgettable day trip to Victoria Falls. Every detail was handled effortlessly and professionally, allowing us to simply relax and immerse ourselves in the beauty of Botswana. The game drives were spectacular — thrilling wildlife sightings, knowledgeable guides, and that indescribable feeling of being surrounded by untamed nature. Watching elephants move gracefully across the landscape and experiencing the stillness of the bush at sunset was magical. Our day trip to Victoria Falls was equally breathtaking — powerful, majestic, and beautifully coordinated from start to finish. It was one of those bucket-list experiences that leaves you humbled by nature’s grandeur. The food at the resort was superb — fresh, beautifully prepared, and varied. Every meal felt like an experience in itself. And the sunsets… absolutely glorious. Watching the sun melt into the horizon over the Chobe River, drink in hand, surrounded by friends — pure perfection. What truly sets this resort apart is the warmth of the people. The hospitality is authentic, attentive, and world-class. Because of how well we were looked after, my Canadian friends were so impressed that they are already planning their return visit in August. Botswana has my heart — and Cresta Mowana made it unforgettable. Malebogo Sechele is a treasure 💎💎💎 We will absolutely be back.

We had lunch here and what a mess! Out of everywhere we went on our two week trip- this staff was rude, curt, abrupt, with no smiles whatsoever. $4.00 each for a Coke which was double the price of anywhere else we went but that's okay. When we tried to pay with cash, they told us that they had no change available. Each server told us no change. I understand that small bills are in short supply but it was the demeanor in which we were told by different waitstaff. My sister and I sat with 6 lovely strangers from different countries and there wasn't a person at our table that enjoyed the food. It wasn't the food that has me writing this negative review though, it was the fact that I was there for two hours and we didn't witness a single smile which was polar opposite of the rest of Botswana/Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The open public spaces are rather nice; however the room and service were poor. On a positive note, the turn down service was nice but almost every other staff member couldn’t care if we were served or not. For lunches and dinners, group members who ordered beverages didn’t receive them until when they were almost finished eating. We had a small room (but learned that all our group’s rooms were small.) The floor wasn’t clean (or hadn’t been cleaned prior to our 2 night visit.) The A/C didn’t work upon arrival and fortunately it was fixed later in the night. The black mold in the bathroom had not been address, though. To finish on a positive, the bedding was pleasant and we were able to get a good night’s sleep.

We stayed here for one night in the executive suite, and I can’t say it was worth the $500+ USD price tag. We had a mouse in our room. When I reported it to the front desk, they sent three people who tore the room apart and sprayed Doom everywhere. They did not offer to move us to another room initially, even though it was late at night and there was literally a mouse running around. After they couldn’t find it, I finally walked back to the front desk myself and asked to be moved, which they did. For that kind of money, the response should have been immediate—new room, no debate. Other than that, it’s a decent property, but at this price point you can likely find better options in the area.
