Mount Grace Hotel & Spa

The room we initially booked was amongst the cluster of rooms in a section that was undergoing renovation. As a consequence the rooms quite old and the carpets were musty. We were then shown two other rooms which were similar and not adequate. We raised the issue at the front desk and were provided a better room. The property turned our initial experience around by providing us with excellent service thereafter, both at the spa and during meal times. They more than made up for the initial issues and we look forward to the newly renovated Mount Grace.

We had an enjoyable weekend. The room 107 was really nice, however the bathroom door could close better, and the POD coffee machine I dont think it worked. Sitting at the pool was great, the gym at the Spa, was very basic but fine. Breakfast was nice, dinner we ate off the menu, chicken dishes a bit sparse, but what I had was fine. Sitting near the windows, we had ants coming in from outside in the dining room so we moved tables. I think they could put out more games on a shelf in the lounge. We played backgammon, and maybe train a staff member to take guests on guided walks. Oh, and the sign on the road to turn onto the MG road we missed as its shocking.

To have more activities at the hotel

Better communication at the hotel. Left after heavy rain the previous night; only to realize there is is no way at the usual road. Hotel should have warned us before leaving and gave an alternative route.
