Mount Grace Hotel & Spa

The Spa was incredible, best part of our stay. The staff were super friendly and the treatments were really great. Also value for money - a lot of the spas we've been to in the past have been super pricey and the treatments have been average. However, the spa at Mount Grace really was well priced AND the treatments were really amazing.

The rest of our experience - minus the spa trip - was average. Our room's main plug wasn't working, neither was the phone to call for room service etc. The food at the buffet was bland (for instance, the dessert looks BEAUTIFUL, but barely had any taste to it and just weird textures in general. Our dinner bill came to R1,7K which was the buffet and a bottle of wine, after what we had we just could not justify that cost.) It feels like MG has sadly lost it's charm. We're not massive drinkers, but be prepared to spend double to triple what you normally would on drinks. We tried to justify it in saying that "well, we did go for the cheaper of the rooms" but that is still money spent, and sadly we didn't feel it was worth the spend.

I liked the cleanliness and staff

They can upgrade the couches in the executive suite they are not comfortable for an executive suite. It will be nice to have a microwave.

Location and hospitality

Maintenance is need on the interior and exterior in some rooms. The walls in standard room (101) requires attention. The burnt patch on the carpet and damp on the walls in the bedroom must be attended to. The rooms located higher, the exterior require ms some attention as well. The hotels buffet menus also requires a relook. It could be enhanced. It appears to be very standard

The staff did not irritate me. Whatever I asked for, they provided making sure I was a happy customer. That impressed me
