The Royal Hotel Elgin

I wasnt about to stay there so there isnt anything.

The room was beyond basic. The mattress went flat to the base when I put my bag on it. The carpets should have been replaced in the last century. The furniture was akin to how you imagine homeless hostel would be. There was a glass fronted min fridge on the floor that was probably out of a bankrupt pub auction. The bedside table had couple of plug sockets screwed into in but it was no where hear a wall socket to plug it in. It advertises a bar and restaurant, neither of which were open

Beautiful, clean room (Room 10), young man housekeeper very helpful and polite. Small fridge in room was very useful. Breakfast good. Carol was very attentive and a ray of sunshine every morning at breakfast. Can't comment on evening menu as ate out with family I was visiting. Hotel very close to various range of shops and the train station. Merry Christmas to all at The Royal Hotel, Elgin. Enjoy your chocolates & biscuits x

Plenty of plug sockets, but one small issue, not a socket close enough to the mirror/dressing table. Only very short hanging space, maybe remove part of the shelf or add a separate wardrobe. A small lamp would have been useful, as the main lights are quite bright in the room. I'm not going to knock down my ratings for the above, as all my own preference.
