Dry good breakfast

Tired room, carpet very tired looking. Shower was not clean. Some upstairs noise.

Breakfast was good

Hotel undergoing renovations - constant noise during daytime and looking shabby in certain areas. Shower door fell off, as did the shower head. Paint peeling in bathroom.

We complained no plug in bathroom sink but it wasn’t replaced

Fantastic staff, went out of their way to make my stay comfortable

Stayed at the hotel during a severe weather crisis, so the hotel was lacking some staff and a few products, however we enjoyed all our meals at the hotel and staff were friendly and helpful. We would have no hesitation in staying at this hotel the next time we are in the area.

Not much. Main reception area looked a little tired, but room and dining area were smart, clean and comfortable.

We were upgraded to the sister hotel, the Mansion House, had beautiful rooms, very friendly and helpful staff and wonderful breakfast

It's a beautiful hotel but could do with some TLC in pkaces

Location is perfect if travelling by train

Unmanned reception was a surprise

Booked for Sat & Sun 2 Night Dinner BnB, but on arrival was told Chef was off sick so no dinner, that night and also advised they do not do meals on Sundays. This was not made clear at time of booking. This defeated the purpose of the Birthday Weekend Booking. We checked out the room which was not as advertised, and was poorly equipped. (no Bedside Lights) In fact the whole Hotel was not as advertised on their website. Pictures did not reflect the true state of the Hotel. When we arrive the place was in darkness, no security when we walked in, Bar was locked. As they did not provide what was agreed I said they were in breach of contract and would not stay. Unfortunately, they took offence and applied a cancellation fee which we are disputing.
