"Excellent location with some flaws"

8.0

Luxury appearing place literally right outside Etosha park. Sprawling grounds (with animals) and pool area but disproportionately small rooms . Bathroom also cramped and only one way to enter via bedside. Non-existent desk area as well as space next to coffee machine. Cramped for 2 people to share. Also upon checkin our room had bugs and dirt all over the bed which is unacceptable at this price point. HOusekeeping did come to redo beds right away to fix the issue. Food was buffet style and average at best. Breakfast was great with fresh juice bar. Since they are part of the same owner as the Strand in Swakopmund (we saw the same friendly helpful manager !!) expect the same gourmet breakfast albeit on a lesser scale. Staff also very very helpful and happy to "open" gift shop across street when you need, and the spa appointments were also very good (eventhough the spa is far they can get a buggy to drive you! Pool bar service is a bit hit/miss and one needs to be aware that animals (small friendly ones) roam the grounds.

"Spacious property and small rooms"

10.0

This is a beautiful and large space. They serve a beautiful buffet - but if you are staying more than 1 night, you’ll notice the buffet doesn’t change much day to day. They have a spa, fitness center, and pool. The rooms are small compared to other lodges even though the hotel itself is quite spacious. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. We did our safari drives through the lodge and they were great with excellent parkas for the cold morning drives.

"A truly amazing Lodge and Lovely experience"

10.0

From the moment we arrived at Mokuti Etosha Lodge, we were overwhelmed by the hospitality and beauty of the Lodge. The staff, from Dominique and Chantal at reception to the bar tenders, waiters and cleaners could not do enough to feel welcome and appreciated. One get a feeling of opulence and care to fine details in the buildings and the rest of the property. The bedrooms are spacious, well decorated with a comfortable king size bed, great shower, TV and exclusive amazing bathroom amenities. The dinner and breakfast selections were outstanding and very well prepared with a good wine selection. My wife went for a pedi- manicure and massage and was impressed by the professionalism, good products used and ambiance. The reptile park was under construction and I only observed some tortoises, 3 snakes and a Nile crocodile. I needed to get a document urgently couriered and was so grateful for the support to get it flown down to Windhoek and transferred to a courier company. This individualized service at a Lodge is rare and makes it stand out. I am certainly going to make it a priority to revisit and stay longer next time.

"The ultimate place to stay in Namutoni gate area"

10.0

Perfect location, amazing food, great bar, top service, very modern lodge. One of the best places we stayed in Namibia. The big pool and the sunbeds are perfect to relax between visits to Etosha which is literally next door. Thanks a lot for the great experience!

"Stunning place in Etosha"

An incredible lodge right at the entrance of Etosha Park. The pool is stunning, the restaurant serves excellent food, and the staff are genuinely helpful and welcoming. A perfect base for exploring the park and also includes a reptile park.

"Next time we will stay longer"

8.0

Knowing the former Mokuti Lodge, the changes are significant and excellent. Location perfect. Garden and pool etc. as well. Welcome at reception: Very good. Breakfast and dinner were a very good experience. Unfortunately we had only booked for one night. Should be more.

"Stunning place 2 mins from Etosha gate"

10.0

This lodge is clean, beautiful, well decorated and the staff is amazing. We came here as a group of 10 people. We were nicely welcome and informed about the facilities by a lovely lady named Dominique. We were taken to our rooms which were a bit small but ok. The food -buffet- catered for all choices be it dinner or breakfast. It was a bit of an empty place but I don’t know why. Will definitely come again.

"Good not great"

8.0

We enjoyed our 4 night stay here. Want to make that clear because this review may sound harsh in places. But that's because far too many reviews lack detail and aren't that useful. The good: the location is perfect being just 2 minutes from the Etosha gate. The grounds and public areas are superb and so well maintained. The pool area is a joy. And the staff are all lovely and want to do their best to ensure you have a great stay (if anything they can be too effusive. You don't all need to ask me how my day is every time all day!). Lastly they have good WiFi everywhere, still a rarity for many even fancy hotels. Room for improvement: we had a standard room. It felt like a 4 star room attached to a 5 star hotel. Surprisingly small, definitely the smallest of the 4 lodges we stayed in. And so gloomy. You needed lights on even in the middle of a sunny day. The light fittings felt cheap and that they may fall off the wall at any point. Also, not much privacy as you can't avoid walking right past your neighbours' glass doors. The mini bar is free. Nice touch. We asked reception if, when restocking, we could only have still water not sparkling. She sent a message to housekeeping while we were there. But the message didn't get acted on. We asked if someone could sort out Netflix as we couldn't log on. That didn't get fixed either. They also are not used - or not trained? - to deal with same sex couples. I know the laws are far more restrictive here (putting it politely) but if you are catering to European and American guests you need to be prepared for them. The welcome letter was addressed to Mr and Mrs. We are definitely 2 misters! Also the (lovely) luggage porter asked if we wanted him to 'separate the beds". Sigh. It's the kind of thing you get used to travelling but this is a 5 star international hotel so our expectations are therefore higher. Another same sex couple we got chatting to had a similar experience. But to be clear we enjoyed our stay overall. Just upgrade those rooms and work on your internal communication.

"Poor show!!"

4.0

This Lodge is physically beautiful with everything provided that one could wish for especially in an African country. HOWEVER, my whole experience was totally spoiled by what I consider to be dishonest presentation. I found out at dinner time that the ONLY meal available was a buffet for the exorbitant price of $650 Nam. That is far more than any a la carte meal I’d have in Australia and many other places. What made it worse was the fact that there is absolutely NO choice. You eat the buffet (no matter how little you want - which was me after a long safari day with an upset stomach). There are NO shops nearby nor can you catch a cab or any other transport. So, the lodge has you hook line and sinker. I chose to go to bed with crackers and a cup of tea (at least that was available in the room). What a huge shame when otherwise the experience would probably have been first class. I cannot recommend at all when dishonesty and manipulation appear to be the game played here.
