"Great location, friendly and helpful staff, but definitely a budget hotel."

5.0

Breakfast was very nice, served in the courtyard. Staff were wonderful, very friendly and responsive. Excellent location just a few blocks from the main square.

Our room was very small, with the bed up against the stairway going to the loft, so in order to get out of bed from that side we had to pull the bed out so it was on an angle, then squeeze around it to get to the bathroom, which was very close to the bed on that side. As we are older and often need to get up in the night, this was a real pain. After the first night we asked to change rooms and were moved to a room that had a better layout. However, the mobile AC unit on the floor didn't work, the sink was completely blocked and the safe had no batteries so it didn't work. The sink and the safe issues were resolved when we mentioned them to the staff, and we also were able to get a few hangers, as there was only one in the room when we arrived. The other issue was wi-fi. The listing states wi-fi in every room but this is not the case. Excellent reception in the patio/breakfast area, but in the rooms it was hit and miss.

"Best Breakfast in Morelia"

10.0

I was here a few months ago and came every day for breakfast. I came back to Morelia with my mom and we eat here every morning. Sergio, Karina, Sonia, and all of the employees are very friendly and welcoming! The food is delicious. The coffee is very strong and good. I highly recommend it!

"Tourist trap"

4.0

I don’t know if this hotel used to be good in the past but now it’s just false advertising and a tourist trap. Instead of the charming photos and the sweet/candy theme, you’ll find dirty rooms, uncomfortable beds and old facilities. But the prices are of a high end hotel so you feel scammed. Additionally in my arrival, after I had booked in advance, they tried to send me to another building they have across the street with small rooms, no closets, instead of AC a big fan and no window- and they still tried to charge me the same price! After a heated conversation they agreed to give me one of the rooms of their internet site, but they were, as I mentioned previously, very questionable. They either step it up or significantly lower their prices.

"Excellent location - disappointing stay"

4.0

We spent two nights there. They advertise as a Boutique hotel, which they are certainly not. On the upside, Hotel is very well located just a few blocks from Cathedral and all historic venues and cleanliness is outstanding. However, walls are quite thin and noise from aisles get loudly into the rooms. First night, there was a large group of teenagers staying at the hotel that kept making loud noises long past midnight preventing us to catch any sleep. On top of that, right before dawn a couple sat right outside our room to have a loud conversation and nobody from hotel personnel seemed to care or try to apeace the group in any case. We took three showers at different times of the day and all three were under stone cold water as hot water is not available even after waiting at least ten minutes as instructed by receptionist. Our fare included American Breakfast that we were not able to redeem since the two days we were in line for over half an hour waiting to be seated and end up quitting ang going for breakfas somewhere else. Parking is a public parking lot two blocks from hotel with very limited schedules. If car needs to be used at a different time (past 10am i.e.) the guests have to pay 200 pesos fee to access their vehicles. Despite the great location and cleanliness... this is just an average hotel and should be priced as such. We are dissapointed.

"Just ok"

6.0

We stayed at the Casa de Los Dulces Sueños the past week-end with my parents. We chose the hotel because in one of the "suites" we could perfectly sleep the three of us. There was a large king size bed in one room and another with a sofa bed. the bathroom was TINY but clean. The experience all in all was just ok, I felt like for Mexico the hotel was expensive for what you got. The breakfast was ok, the location ok (5 blocks from where you want to be), the free valet parking was good. The personnel where VERY young and had no knowledge of restaurants, what to do, even addresses in the area. Also in the evening all their friends gathered in the reception area and you could hear the talking and laughing to the rooms clearly until late. If I would go back I would go for a more central location in one of the larger hotels.

"Good place - excellent location"

8.0

We stayed at Casa from dec. 26 to 31. We had booked with Mansion San Francisco and later learned that it had changed owners. We were a little worried by the latest reviews, however we were lucky. We had a room that was in the back. You entered facing a small sitting room, the king size bed was through a set of doors that we closed at night and heard no noise at all. I had come all prepared with earplugs but we did not need them. The room is called la Duquesa. The hotel was clean, pleasant, very well located. Breakfast every morning was simple. I agree with other posters that the staff was nice but very inexperienced. We did however get the iron and ironing board. We had WiFi in the room. The bathroom was very small but the shower large enough. I think it was good value for the money. The upscale hotels are most of them near the Cathedral and I think there it is very noisy. I would not hesitate to return there and make sure to get the same room.

"OK but with drawbacks"

6.0

Be advised that the hotel has recently changed it name to Casa de Los Dulces Suenos Stayed here 4 nights late November. Good location near Plaza San Francisco and craft shops, one block away from main boulevard, equal walking distance to cathedral in one direction and aqueduct in the other. Rooms are arranged around the central courtyard where breakfast is served. Our room was a decent size, beds reasonably comfortable, bathroom small but adequate. Only problem was that the main doors by which the tiny reception desk is located are open directly onto the street from early morning until late at night. Any noise from the street—cars, conversations, whatever—echo into the courtyard so that they seem to be directly in your room. Even after the doors are closed, the water pump that gets water up to the roof kicks in, so getting a night’s sleep was a challenge. As others have remarked, the young staff are pleasant but not particularly knowledgeable. One morning we asked what kind of celebration was being prepared in town since the streets were closed to traffic. The young man at the desk had no idea. (It turned out to be Revolution Day, and luckily we got ourselves to a good spot to watch a terrific parade.) Overall we thought this place offered good value for money, but it makes us for the first time consider bringing earplugs when we travel.
