"An unexpected great experience"

10.0

Being a vegetarian I didn't expect much in Germany, but this hotel went out of its way to please me with original and delicious food. The sauna was perfect and we even could assist a yoga session and join. The room was ok too. The view was great and the surrounding forests ideal for walks. The owner greatly helped us planning our walks.

"Wonderful hospitality; wonderful location"

10.0

The stay was great...spacious accomodations, onsite parking, beuatiful location, delicious food. The innkeeper was most gracious and offered suggestions of things to do in the area and provided maps. Breakfast is included; dinner is offered at additional fee - well worth the cost. Innkeeper speaks English, which was nice for us. Oh, and this inn has the BEST COFFEE I have found in all of Europe!

"Quiet Elegance with a View!"

10.0

I stayed at the Hotel Ritschlay in August, 2011, (actually), on a solo trip to Germany and Luxembourg. The proprietor was connected with the travel industry and he is well versed in the needs of the traveler. The Hotel is located near the top of a hill and overlooks the river separates Germany and Luxembourg and is perfect for relaxation or use as a base of travel. The cuisine is Excellent-I enjoyed dinner at the hotel one evening and breakfast is served in a bright airy room downstairs. Features well landscaped small grounds that are perfect for relaxing with a book in the afternoon and the rooms are both comfortable and reasonable. Bollendorf is a small town located in a scenic area of Germany and is an excellent base for visits to Echternach, LU and Vianden, LU. Both towns have must see castles, (esp. Vianden) and the Basilica Church in Echternach is beautiful and historic. The church's organ, Opus 1010, from Klais-Orgelbau of Bonn, Germany is a beauty and the acoustics are Excellent. I would not have known of the beauty of these towns without the guidance of the proprietor of the Hotel Ritschlay. He is a wealth of information!

"Nice Place"

8.0

I stayed at Hotel Ritschlay when I was checking out my ancestors. The host is very helpful and speaks excellent English. The food in the hotel was excellent. The only drawback was you had to walk up a steep hill if you didn't have a car. The accomadations were clean and in very good shape considering it was also very economical. I would definitely recommend it. It was also a great opportunity to meet people from other areas. I must emphasize how helpful they were in arranging for transport for me to a nearby locality. The staff is very friendly. Great Place.

"Exceptional"

10.0

This was a nice place to stay, but a very hard place to find and get to. The GPS routes you to some impossible roads; searching for an address and driving a stick shift on slick roads and extreme inclines in the rain, it was pretty scary going. The manager was helpful with suggestions for sites to see in the area and directions. The breakfast included in the price was a typical German breakfast - good croissants!

"Friendly family service with comfort"

8.0

You can expect exceptional family service when you stay at Hotel Ritschlay. The hotel is conveniently located to many scenic walking trails if you're looking for some outdoor activity. The rooms are simple, but comfortable. Additionally, there's a fantastic sauna and mini-spa set up downstairs, which is a hidden gem. We dined in one evening, had a fantastic and reasonably priced meal consisting of local ingredients. The proprietors really do go out of their way to make sure your needs are met....I'd definitely stay again!

"Very nice hotel with very friendly staff"

10.0

This was our second stay and we will be back for a third time. It's ideally located to start some nice (long) hikings. Certainly try the GPS-trips (ask the owner for more details). Meals are more than OK and the roomrates are hard to beat given the quality & service you get in return.

"comfortable and friendly"

8.0

We stayed here for 3 nights on our way home from Alsace. Very well situated for wandering in the Eifel , close enough to a city for shopping (diekirch and echternach) , this hotel is located uphill in a quiet street . Beautiful view over the valley. Half-pension possible and very nice breakfast. The service by the owner is correct and friendly. For paying with creditcard they charge you 3% but the roomrate is correct.
