Pelekas Monastery

Sadly we feel ripped off due to the room conditions this hotel offered. Our Junior Suite was in dire need of modernisation: - old, full of limescale bathroom, with dirty tiles and grout missing, dirty door, unsafe bathtub / shower as water leaked onto the floor making it extremely slippery. Very low shower pressure. - old, battered and noisy bed frames, making sleep very difficult; unstable bed, moving about. - extra bed was more like an extendable armchair with a very, very thin mattress, we could feel the springs through - unble to use and get a good sleep. Very dirty armchair pillows. - area where the extra bed (child bed) was positioned directly underneath the aircon grill, hence unble to use much to cool down room. - dirty hallways leading to our room, broken tiles, dirty walls; Room service tables sat on hallways by the door for hours before being cleared. It is a shame, as the location is nice, lovely beach and entertaining atmosphere, and the staff were lovely (with some exception at the dinner where, though all inclusive, some staff not very welcoming if you were asking for a second cappuccino :) Great Spa facilities with lovely staff.

Beautiful location, the beach is the best part of this hotel. The room was nice but not exactly as described (no sofa bed). The food was quite good, different options at each meal. The all inclusive drinks were not great at all. Overall, we had a lovely stay, the staff are friendly and very helpful, and the beach is beautiful. The public bus and shuttle bus were great, but the taxi the hotel called for us for a day trip was very expensive. I would agree with other reviews that this is not a five star hotel, but we enjoyed it and would recommend.

This place was beautiful, would definitely recommend, i would return.

Great last minute October half term getaway to get out of the uk weather for abit! Highly recommend for a quick escape from england. Especially liked the lift that went down the hill very good with the hotel being ok a hill.

Hotel is situated at the bottom of a long winding and narrow road. Care must be taken if self drive. Signage to Reception not clear. To save paper and time, I registered online, which was a good idea from the hotel. However I was given the same form for sign-in on paper, at least I saved time. The room was nicely layout with good ac/heating unit. Bed was comfortable and even a hydro bath, although I didn't use it. Food from the buffet were very good with a variety of choices. During peak times there were long wait for a table, the restaurant staff worked hard but were limited to numbers of tables available. All staff at the hotel were very good, helpful; friendly and efficient. A relaxing stay.

Amazing hotel! Had such a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend this place. Calm and relaxing atmosphere, staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Food is great, the beach is right there and so beautiful! Loved every minute of it.

Definitely recommend this hotel for a wonderful relaxing holiday. Location excellent. Shuttle buses available to Pelekas village. Incredible beach and pool area. Great nightly entertainment and the food was really great with lots of variety. Our sea facing room and balcony was also lovely to watch the gorgeous Corfu sunsets. It felt safe and they were very Covid safe and aware. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The only let down would be their environment policy - no recycling in hotel or pool area and use of single use plastics is not great. Appreciate they can’t use glass but polycarbonate would be a better option. And it’s not pleasant to eat in the outdoor areas surrounded by smokers - I think they should be put in a separate area to enjoy their own fumes and not spoil everyone else’s experience. But it really was a lovely holiday and I would go back to this hotel.

The location was great, better going somewhere was not good, alcohol on the all inclusive package is unbranded and not at all alcohol,

The hotel is very nice on a very nice location. We have no complaints on accommodation and hotel facilities . Everything was great . If there is anything to improve - that would be to pay greater attention to some of the dishes served, such as famous Greek salad, especially for breakfast : cook to order would be recommended (eggs for example, fish for lunch, grill for dinner etc). Orange juice in the machines is substandard please replace with a real taste of oranges.

I am never one to leave negative reviews because I don’t believe in spreading negativity and I don’t want this to personally affect this staff member however, there is a woman from the front reception staff that really should be placed elsewhere and not be the face of the hotel/the first person you interact with upon arrival. Unfortunately no matter how nice I tried to be and brush off her demeanor she was (probably unconsciously) rude and every question I asked seemed like I was an annoyance as if I should have known the answer. She would answer and would quickly turn to another person (guest or staff) while I was still talking with her as if to rush me away. Not to mention eye rolls, storming off to the back office, I ask a question and she starts speaking in Greek to co-workers while I’m standing there, etc. I’m sure the hotel was understaffed, super busy, etc. however, it should be common knowledge that in the hospitality business your number one priority is to be hospitable and not make your guests feel unwelcome. Other than that, the place was incredible and definitely a beautiful first time in Greece for me. Thank you to the rest of the amazing staff for a great stay!
