"NOT FINISHED!!"

2.0

NOT READY! We arrived ready to embrace what we knew wasn’t going to be the hottest holiday we’ve ever had, however, it seems like the resort is only fit for use in summer, not any other months of the year. Firstly, yes there was a sandstorm and the pools would have needed cleaning. However, even taking this into account there are workers building around the children’s splash pool. There are floor tiles being laid, and a whole new area of the resort being build. In fact, we witnessed the pizza and gyros bar being plastered on the wall above where the pizza was being served from. LITERALLY! This bigger slides are completely out of bounds owing to the fact that the resort is being build around them. It is quite literally a building site. Glass panels being carried around and workers drilling and hammering and cutting tiles all day long. Secondly, they clearly do not have the capacity for customers outside of summer. The main restaurant has 5 tables for 8 and about 20 tables for 4 inside as they have refrained from using the outside due to the cold, and yet every night there are people queuing out the door with children in the cold as they cannot be seated waiting almost 30 mins at a time. Whilst the staff know this and the waitresses are clearing the tables quickly, it doesn’t stop them from “reserving” tables for their directors to come and sit down for an à la carte meal, using up waitresses that are far to busy, and chefs that are struggling to keep up with demand. While paying customers are left standing in the cold through lack of seats. They tell me that that are prepared for the colder months but I am yet to see any organisation from them. We have spoken to our holiday rep and they were also never advised of the on going building works and were told these were supposed to be finished before opening for customers. Appalling.

"It's a building site"

2.0

Visited early April 2026, family of 4 with 2 children. Let's start with the positives.... Staff are amazing, helpful and friendly. Also the food is really good for a buffet. Otherwise I would totally avoid this hotel for the time being. It's a building site, nothing is open. No waterslides available, 1 pool open (freezing!),1 buffet open for everyone to get food, no football pitch, no tennis court, no playground, no kids club, no daytime activities. Nothing available for children at all. Cables hanging out walls/ceilings, dust everywhere, noise from the builders, most of the complex is closed off. This hotel should not be open. It's a building site that is way off completion IMO. Every time we ask we are told it'll be open "tomorrow"! It's weeks/months away. Granted it will be a beautiful hotel once completed, but if you are due here shortly I would seriously consider changing your plans.

"A family friendly hotel.A great selection of pools and slides."

8.0

Our first time abroad with all the family.A family friendly hotel. The slides were great fun.Staff were friendly and the place was clean and tidy.Entertainment was ok,could’ve been better.Sunbeds get taken quickly. The rooms were big and spacious.Shop on sight is quite expensive. As not too far from the airport, there’s a lot of planes that fly over but that didn’t bother us

"Overall Review – 3 Stars at a Push"

4.0

We stayed at this resort recently and, while it has some clear positives, the overall experience was disappointing enough that I would rate it 3 stars at a push. The location does a lot of the heavy lifting here, because without it, the weaknesses of the hotel itself would be far more obvious. Food & Drink One of the biggest letdowns was the food. The meal choices were extremely basic and repetitive, with very little variation from day to day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner followed almost the same format throughout our stay, which quickly became tiresome. For an all-inclusive resort, the lack of imagination and variety was surprising. While there were a few nice restaurants on site, access felt limited and availability was inconsistent, meaning most guests were pushed back toward the same buffet options repeatedly. Drinks were another major issue. All cocktails and beers were served in cheap plastic glasses, which instantly cheapened the experience. This might be acceptable around the pool, but it was the same everywhere, including evening bars. Worse still, the drinks were heavily watered down, often lacking any real taste. Cocktails in particular were disappointing and felt more like flavored water than proper drinks. Perhaps the most frustrating policy was that all-inclusive ended at 11pm. After that time, everything had to be paid for, which felt unreasonable for guests who had already paid for an all-inclusive package. This policy wasn’t clearly communicated beforehand and left many guests annoyed when trying to relax later in the evening. Pools & Atmosphere The pools were massively overcrowded, especially during peak hours. Finding space to swim or relax was difficult, and there was very little sense of calm or luxury. Sunbeds were taken early, and the general pool environment felt chaotic rather than enjoyable. One of the most misleading aspects was the swim-up rooms. These were advertised as a premium feature, but in reality, the swim-up pools were open to all guests, meaning there was no privacy whatsoever. People constantly walked past or swam directly outside the room, which completely defeated the purpose of booking a swim-up room. To make matters worse, swimming lessons were held outside our swim-up room every day. This meant groups of children, instructors, whistles, and constant noise directly outside our door during what should have been a relaxing experience. There was no warning about this, and it felt incredibly intrusive. Rooms & Maintenance The rooms were in serious need of an upgrade. While they were spacious enough, the condition was poor. Paint was flaking off the walls, fixtures felt tired, and overall the room looked worn and neglected rather than well-maintained. The bathroom was particularly problematic. Every time anyone had a shower, the bathroom flooded, leaving water all over the floor. This wasn’t just an inconvenience—it felt unhygienic and unsafe, especially with slippery tiles. Despite reporting the issue, it never seemed to be properly resolved. Another frustration was the towel service, which allowed only one towel per person per day. This is completely impractical in a beach resort where guests swim multiple times daily. Wet towels were often still damp the next day, and requesting extras felt like a battle rather than a standard service. Service & Value While some staff members were polite and friendly, overall service felt inconsistent. Certain areas were clearly understaffed, which showed in slow bar service, lack of pool supervision, and minimal attention to guest complaints. For the price paid, the experience simply didn’t match expectations. Location – The Saving Grace The location is excellent and easily the best thing about this resort. Being close to shops, bars, and amenities made it easy to escape the hotel when needed. The nearby supermarket was great, offering affordable snacks, drinks, and essentials, which we relied on more than expected. The Wembley Pub deserves a special mention—it was absolutely amazing. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good drinks, and far better value than what was offered inside the resort. It became one of the highlights of our stay and showed what good hospitality should look like. Final Thoughts This resort has potential, but it is being held back by poor management decisions, outdated facilities, and misleading features. The overcrowding, lack of food variety, watered-down drinks, and tired rooms significantly impact the overall experience. While the location, nearby amenities, and a few decent restaurants help balance things slightly, they are not enough to fully compensate for the hotel’s shortcomings. If major improvements were made—particularly to room maintenance, pool management, food quality, and drink service—this could be a much better resort. As it stands, it falls well short of what most people expect from an all-inclusive holiday.

"Excellent week away"

10.0

We had a week stay at this hotel during the October half term. Though busy it did not feel crowded. Rooms Our room was fine. Towels changed everyday. We had two balconies and complimentary safe box. The fridge was stocked with soft drinks and replenished. I felt more cups would have been useful for making tea/ coffee. Balcony overlooked mini splash park. There are 7 or 8 pools dotted about the hotel complex. Some quiet for swimming others for fun and splashing around. A waterpark pool, splash park and two mini splash parks for tots. There were busy periods but there were sunbeds available. There are several bars. The staff were always friendly and welcoming and helpful. The main restaurant was very good with a massive selection of food. The a la carte restaurant was great. We had our two complimentary meals there and the food was excellent. We paid regular prices for our wines. Additionally food snacks were great. Lovely hot pizza slices and gyros, tasty ice cream and excellent coffee too. We used the kids club and though geared more for under 5s our 8 year old enjoyed spending the odd morning there. We also went to the beach which was great. We took a trip on a boat for swimming booking near the beach and to the waterpark too. We had tried to book the pirate boat trip but they had closed for the season. We made our own trip to Knossos which was easy if a bit disappointing. Overall a great stay. Very enjoyable.

"Brilliant resort for all! Highly recommended!"

10.0

Lovely place to stay! Didn’t do too much research in to all the nitty gritty reviews on TA when people pull silly nothings apart. Our room (5014) was lovely, very quiet at the bottom of the resort. The pool within metres of our room was GORGEOUS! The waterpark at the top of the resort was fun for all ages. The bars were very well stocked. Staff were more than friendly, Maria at the Poseidon’s Bar was very chatty and friendly. Food options were very plentiful. Breakfast options are big, same for Lunch. Most dinners were themed, but have options for all types of eaters. Definitely recommend the Asian restaurant, really tasty food! (Expect to pay for any drinks in this restaurant, apart from water). The 3 snack bars open during the middle of the day were brilliant. Highly recommend the Gyros, never had one before and can safely say went most days for one. The burger and pizza stations are also very tasty. Usually one for the entertainment options, didn’t see too many. My one issue was the outside theatre. If you wish to see the shows, GET THERE EARLY! Entertainment in the bar was fun, the band we saw were incredible! The beach is a 5-10 minute walk, very nice views. The aquarium is around a 20-25 minute walk. Would recommend some time there. Have reviewed that too on my page. Get used to climbing the hills at the hotel. The entire resort is on a hill, just take your time moving up and down. Enjoy yourself, you’re on holiday!

"Average"

Rooms is lively apart from the bed lights as it’s too low and one is broken and it twisting. Swimming pool are nice but a little cold during our visit as it’s in October half term. Chambermaid from Albania was lovely. The bar staff in the swimming pool named Victoria was very rude an moody. No customer service. Never seen her crack a smile. Fiid was very average.

"A relaxing family break in the sun!"

10.0

As I put on my cosy hoody and clean up after my messy family this morning, I am daydreaming about the wonderful holiday we've just returned from. Here's my rather long review with some photos - excuse the mess in our room! I've tried to show the available storage in the family suite.. Mostly shelving and big wardrobes with about 10 hangers. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and attentive.. First thing in the morning the cleaners were out mopping floors outside, our room was serviced daily, soft drinks in the fridge replenished at least every other day. Shout out to Manos the lifeguard who was so friendly and chatty with our kids when they were in the slides in the waterpark ❤️ The food was your classic AI buffet (daily salads, bread, cheese, meats, pizza, pasta, some themed dishes) and we all found something to eat and nobody had any stomach issues (except me being bloated from all the naughty choices I made!!). The pizza, gyros and ice cream during the day was very tasty! We didn't go to the a la carte restaurants, so can't comment on those. Drinks were again mostly what I'd expect and I've had a lot worse before - I enjoyed the fizzy lime (closest to the likes of Sprite) and a cheeky sex on the beach or glass of rose wine here and there. Branded spirits were no extra cost if requested. I did have what felt like a goldfish bowl of limoncello spritz one evening - very tasty! We had a swim-up family suite in the 8000 block, which I believe is only a couple of months old, and absolutely loved it. Yes, other guests can use the pool, but it was quieter than the main pool and we didn't have any faff getting sunbeds. People were generally respectful of each other's space and anyone using the pools outside of the stated 10-6 times did so quietly, mostly adults getting some lengths in before the kids emerged! We walked to the beach to watch the sunset one evening and got a bus to Heraklion and Knossos Palace one day, but didn't venture out other than that. We chose this resort knowing it wasn't a bustling town, as we are happy relaxing on and evening. If you want that, you need to go to Hersonnisos really. I can't comment on the entertainment, as we generally made our own and were chilling over a game of Uno most evenings.. However there was a mini disco at 8/8.30 and then other entertainment at 9/9.30 (acrobat, magic show, karaoke and the like). I used the spa one afternoon and spent an hour in the jaccuzi and sauna, then had a wonderful full body massage (thank you Aborra!!) - such a treat!! You could use the facilities for €20,or they were included when booking a treatment (priced depending on what you wanted). I was worried after reading some recent reviews, but we couldn't fault the place. With the building work going on, I feel like it'll be even better next season and probably out of out budget, but otherwise we would return in a heartbeat!

"Honest review"

6.0

This was our first visit to Crete. We booked this as a 4* hotel. This in all honesty is not a 4* hotel. We were charged the 5* tax on arrival as locally this hotel is rated as 5* so please be warned. On arrival we were shown to our room by a lovely gentleman on reception. We then dumped the cases and went for a look around. The resort is large. There are a number of pools, water slides, splash park, private swim up pools etc. There are areas of the hotel which are newer and you can tell these have been done well, but are shaded all day so too cold to swim in the new beautiful pools. The pool by the main bar is slightly heated but is far too small for the amount of people, it gets crazy loud and rowdy here. All pools should be heated for 5*. The other pools are beyond freezing but on hot days we just about managed. The beach is a short walk from the back of the hotel and is lovely, clean and clear water, sandy and quiet, we had great fun here. The food at the all inclusive buffet is plentiful but just isn't hot enough, warm at best but never hot. Plenty of choice though for kids and adults which are happy to try stuff. Fresh salads and bread all excellent, the hot plates just aren't hot enough. Ice cream area good. Daytime snacks include burgers, pizza and gyros.... honestly pants! Burgers are cold, cold slice of cheese and raw onions. The gyros are slightly better. Pizza cold! A visit to Heraklion by bus is simple and a short walk to the bus stop. Around 2euros each to get to Heraklion bus station. We had a lovely walk around some lovely shops here, worth a visit. Overall we had a good holiday, we made the best of it. The rooms were basic but clean. Beds made and changed regularly. Staff were friendly and helpful. On leaving the hotel Jet2 failed to notify us of a change in collection time. We missed our coach transfer and had to get a taxi, luckily we saved euros for the airport as this paid for the taxi. We just made the flight! Not overly impressed with Jet2 however that's a different review! If you're expecting a 5* holiday this isn't for you! If you're ok with 3* plus with loud rowdy people where the atmosphere is like a sunny Butlins and lots of pools this could be ok for you. We wouldn't go again to this hotel but would probably try another area of Crete.
