Gouves Water Park Holiday Resort

A lovely hotel and we’ve had a nice time but just nothing much round about. Drinks are not branded (pay extra for these) so it’s local Coca Cola, orange etc and also alcohol is the same. I think for A/I it should be Pepsi, Coca Cola, Fanta etc The food is decent but just not warm enough. There is a microwave though. I do like to go a walk but only an odd wee shop nearby and one onsite but they’re not well stocked. Don’t understand this as surely you’d make money if you had more selection as people can’t really go anywhere else? pizza, Gyros and chips during the day which are fab. Staff are nice and work hard too. There’s a larger waterpark for the older kids and a smaller version for younger kids.

Fantastic resort, friendly staff and very clean. Food was great plenty of choice, spa was lovely and I had a massage by Alboror very professional and nice therapist. Thank you

Location: good - the beach is 10 minute walk and there's some really nice little bars and restaurants down there too. Drinks: really bad 0/5 – wines, beers, and soft drinks - 'roller cola'!. Main bar service was so slow, long queues. Best finds: the small "Poiseden" bar behind block 3000's (centre of the complex) where the lovely Maria serves drinks during the day, with a smile and a chat. Newly opened towards the end of our stay was Hermes Adult only wine bar above reception - excellent! Food: 4/5 main restaurant so busy and noisy due to the way it was laid out – better to find seating outside if possible. Al a Carte Greek, food/service good – downside no food options for children. Asian restaurant very good. Rooms: 3.5/5 at best - relatively small and quite basic but clean, no drawers for clothes but hanging space good. Air con was spot on. Entertainment: The onsite animation team seemed lively and got things going for those that wanted to during the day. The amphitheatre was a bit cramped. Climate Resilience Tax: note that this is charged according to local rating of hotel which was 5* - this can differ from your travel agents rating. We paid €15 prpn. I didn't feel the hotel's star rating matched our overall experience, however, we still had a lovely family holiday.

Amazing hotel, great staff, great facility. The vibe was always energetic, with staff always helpful. I would visit again

Excellent facilities,very friendly personal at the spa I had an excellent massage with Katerina.I liked the Hotel because it gives you a feeling of a little village not like a big block.

This holiday was good expecially the swim up room was brilliant, and the aqua park was good , lots of pools to choose from, unfortunately the bigger slides is a height restrictions, have to be 120cm , so my daughter couldn't go on, she was only 1cm too small ,but other children that were similar height or smaller been allowed to go down the shute. Room sleeps 4 but only 2 x sun loungers The staff were lovely, cleaners were in every day , lovely friendly expecially Linda, so nice. bad thing was lack of entertainment for adults and children, they had a mini disco that was only on for half an hour. Alcohol was rubbish even though we had all inclusive plus, lack of choice aswell, only had 1 chose of beer, and only allowed drinks up untill 11pm, even though bar was open untill 1am. Food isn't good , wasn't hot.. My mum and uncle were ill for few days , think due to the food not been kept hot enough it the hot plates, that they keep them in. The drain next to pool was stinken, smelt like sewage and was manky aswell , complained to reception, was told get some one came to fix it, but didn't, but Lindthe maid and covered with towel. Don't get taxi from hotel as they charge double the price of a normal taxi. Me and my uncle payed to get a massage, got the use of the spa jacuzzi and sauna, which the jacuzzi wasn't hot enough, said to lady and said we would get maintaince to fix , but still next time we went back still wasn't hot enoug a d not enough seating when busy

Just returned from a weeks stay at Gouves water park, we had a lovely family break, the resort is big, lots going on, excellent for children/ families, food, entertainment and lots of variety in general I.E pools were all very good, one thing that stood out for us is the staff, could not speak highly enough, they go above and beyond, also the place is immaculately clean, we did go a walk out a few times, as we always do and there is plenty of nice bars/ tavernas/ shops close by and beach is a short distance walk, oh and the football pitch was brilliant, me and my son had hours and hours of football fun, all In all, our next visit to Crete, which I’m sure will be next year, will almost certainly be back to Gouves water park. 5 ⭐️

Very liked the hotel, great for children, rooms are clean, great spa and massage made by Katerina. Location great 10 minutes from airport. Many kind of food in the restaurant but very salty. We liked this hotel very much.

The hotel was well located—not far from the airport and close to the beach. It offered good facilities for children, including various pools and slides. However, the water in the pools was very cold and took a few days to get used to. We found the hotel to be overrated as a 5-star establishment. Although we booked all-inclusive, access to facilities like the sauna and jacuzzi required an extra fee, which didn’t seem fair. The rooms were below expectations—not particularly clean, and our bathroom had visible mould on the shower head. This level of cleanliness is simply not acceptable in a hotel rated as 5-star. Food at the buffet was average, and the two on-site restaurants were quite basic. Drinks were mostly cheap versions of sodas, which again did not align with the premium all-inclusive experience we were expecting. Some staff members were lovely—especially the man at the ice cream stand and the cleaners, who were very kind to children. However, many others were unfriendly and seemed more focused on rushing through their tasks than offering good service. In the restaurants especially, staff were often abrupt and physically pushing past guests, including children, which felt unprofessional. Despite paying for an all-inclusive package, we encountered several unexpected additional charges. These extras added up and made the trip feel more expensive than it was worth. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday mainly because we were together as a family and made the most of it. However, we felt that the hotel did not deliver on its 5-star promise, and the overall experience didn’t reflect the price we paid. With better organisation and clearer expectations, this could have been a much more enjoyable and stress-free trip.
