Gouves Water Park Holiday Resort

FACILITIES: Ok, the pools and facilities were nice and typical of 4 star, it would have been nice to receive a map of the hotel as finding all the pools hidden away was hard, it would have also been good to have some of the baby slide pools heated as the pools were just so cold for very small children and babies. The cleaners and bar staff were friendly and the rooms are kept to a good standard every day HOTEL ROOM BEHAVIOUR: if you want a quiet family holiday do not go to this hotel, the corridors are noisy at night, we heard drunken people at 1am returning to their room shouting and banging doors. I complained in the morning as it woke my daughter and the reception didn't do anything about it. on the 3rd night we woke to a huge bang around 2:30am and heard a man swearing and shouting about his family ruining his holiday, he had a young child with him and was on a drunk rant banging doors for about an hour, I was scared to go out to confront him. another guest did and he threatend to fight him and told him to go back to his room. I am unsure if the guests who confronted him reported it but it was awful. the 5th night there was a boy playing football in the corridor around 1am and banging it against walls. FOOD: the food really let the hotel down, the buffet restaurant was not good at all the themed nights were over cooked, and you couldn't make a cohesive meal. more selection needed for children. a lot of Wet meat and overcooked fish. if you like chips and pizza then you'll be fine. lunch at buffet felt like an after thought, more salamis needed and fresh cut bread to make sandwiches, avacaodo, fresh tomato's etc. the pool food options were good and thank god but after a few days of fried food I craved something fresh, it would have been nice to be able to order a ready made club sandwich or a ceaser salad, avacado toast or some other options. coffees were small and in paper cups often only half full. no ice at the self drinks machine. more non alcoholic cocktail options as having two options and the rest you have to pay for isn't all inclusive. ALACARTE: There are two alacarte restaurants, an Asian one and a Greek one Asian restaurant Unami: overall the better one out of the two, we had spring rolls and tempura Prawns which were good for starters, then I had the spicy Beef and my husband had the crispy duck for main, over all the food was good and better than the main buffet restaurant. The Greek restaurant, the staff were friendly and offered to make chicken nuggets for my 2 yr old. The starters were ok, spinach parcels, vine leaf parcels, some sort of hard bread brucceta, grilled octopus, takzitki (spelling may not be correct) and salad. the starters were better than the mains and edible. The mains - Rooster, beef, lamb and pork, all very Wet and covered in liquid, the rooster was over cooked, the lamb was grey and tasted like Fish, and the beef was just very bland. overall not good, I am pregnant and couldn't eat any of the mains. my husband ate some and was very ill the next day SPA: you have to pay if you want a session to just use the sauna and steam/ jacuzzi. I got quoted for a 45min facial and it was £167. being a beauty therapist myself I thought that was unbelievably expensive. I spoke to other women around the pool who had the same experience and same opinion. KIDS CLUB / ENTERTAINMENT AND PARK: staff were so lovely, entertaining, very good at their jobs and the park and soft play are very good overall we had a nice time but the food massively let the holiday down. and the other guests in the hotel. we would not revisit this hotel.

Amazing week away, weather didnt disapoint, staff were incredible, Endles fun for the kids, food was 10-10 so much choice highly recomend for a family holiday

Stayed here for 14 nights in September as a family of 5 the food was good on some nights but the hotel repeat a lot of the foods they serve we have only had 2 nights within the whole 14 days that was really good which was Mexican and pasta night. However during lunch time there is a pizza, burger and gyros bar which are all fantastic! The room we stayed in was for 5 people 3 of which are children. The room wasn’t 5 star worthy was very small and only 1 out of 2 air cons worked. The shower wasn’t very good the shower head kept falling down and water would get all over the full toilet so had to use a few towels to dry it up, the space within the toilet was also super small and I struggled to get passed the door into the actual toilet from where the sink and toilet were there was a small gap so if you were a bigger person you would really struggle to fit into this toilet. There was also a very horrible dirty water smell the full time within the toilet area. The cleaners for the rooms didn’t do a good job as there were sand within our beds the full time we were there even when we had fresh sheets there was always sand. As well as a few days we have had to go request more towels as we weren’t given any fresh ones. And the sheets were just left on the bed not even made. The hotel has 2 water parks one for younger kids and one for older. My daughter hurt her chin on the first day in the younger water park and had to get stitches and the life guard on duty was amazing and acted fast! The pools themselves were quite cold but once you got in them it was alright. However the sides of the pools at the sun loungers were hardly ever cleaned, everyday I would see grapes and rubbish first thing in the morning which showed they don’t clean under them. As we book all inclusive we expected all inclusive but this wasn’t the case for this hotel, There were unlimited drinks until 11 at night and after that you had to pay, as well as if you wanted branded alcohol you also had to pay extra for that. Had a good few drinks during the entertainment but never felt drunk from them. Entertainment was a little poor, some nights there were a small band which weren’t very good they also play the same songs every time. But other nights were good with comedy shows and a Disney show. It is the same shows repeated every week. We watched the magic show on our last night and that was alright the highlight of that show was when they picked my daughter to help. How ever they only picked 1 child from the front row throughout the show only people from the back were getting chosen. Kids club staff are amazing and so welcoming! my daughter grew attached to giada. They did daily activities for the children and a mini disco at night. I will say however the soft play/ park area they have at the kids club is really dirty, Hair and things everywhere I have attached pictures of this. My son also got really sick the last few days with a cold and vomiting. Their isn’t much for babies to do at this resort apart from crawling around at kids club which the floor is always wet due to being right next to the pool and the slides. The kids pools were all too deep for babies to just sit and splash in, could do with a little splash pad for babies. There isn’t much around the area but it is a short walk to the beach which it’s really nice. Water was lovely and beach was kept really tidy! They have water activities down at the beach. Within a short walk there is a small town with souvenir shops and some food places, we ate in a few of these the best being a little street food place called 3rd rear that sells burgers, pasta, pizza and sandwiches!

We have just got back from an 11 day stay at Gouves Water park. It advertises itself as a 5 star resort but that's a little optimistic, at best it's a very good 3 star or an average 4 star. It's aimed at families and has something for every age group as long as they like swimming pools. There is at least 12 pools around the site all aimed at different age groups some with slides and there is a kids club for the very young. The staff are all friendly and attentive and are a credit to the hotel. This is an all inclusive hotel with all food and drinks included. The food, although tasty is vary samy day in and day out is always cold. We tried going early and late but whenever we went to eat it was always tepid/cold luckily three days in we found a microwave so we where able to heat up the food in morning but we ate out for most evening meals. It was a shame as they only had to turn up the Ban-maria's by a few degrees to make all the difference. Although there are 5 bars around the site they all serve the same drinks and have no entertainment what so ever, nothing, nada not even a TV!! In each bar it's the same chintzy background music played at a very low volume. The Beer is truly awful and only local or unbranded alcohol is included for free, there is a charge for everything else and everything is chargeable after 11pm. The public areas are all very clean and modern but the rooms vary from block to block, our room felt very basic and tired but other rooms were much better but none felt or looked like a 5 star hotel. Spa Cretan massage with Katerina was amazing,if you need to get strong or light pressure ,she will adjust to your needs, very lovely lady, I recommend 100%.

Cock roaches in room told staff was told lieing then he seen them and after that was moved to another room then to b told to move agine so now in 3rd room air con not working code e4 told nothing wrong and working but made him stay to see after reset 5 mins after erro code then told reception will ring asked for fan apparently no fan in a complex like this another hot night with no ac pool and tiles get jet washed into pool and broken glass all over top bar service not with a smile paid a lot of money for this to have the worst experience and nothing in return 5 star they sat more like 3 food the same daily and crap only good thing is the lady in quiet. Bar she’s loverly would recommend book else were don’t know how it can be reviewed as good and 5 stars not a chance slides crap to u have to keep pushing down the big ones your self not wat I exspected from reviews Neva moan about an holiday but feel 4500 wasted pluss we’re sicks in bed room they filthy in seconds dusty broken lights in my mums room and hanging off wall dirty dusty pubes in shower on walls and hears left from last guest

Beer watered down lukewarm food on restaurant plenty to say but no more words as in can be rude some staff was nice more of the female had to go out for food down the restaurants as they were really nice and welcoming never topped up on toilet rolls would not come again there was one lovely lady by a small pool she was lovely when getting a drink wouldn’t come back here again that’s my impression could not wait to get back home and it’s definitely not a 5 star I would say it’s a 3 star
