"Amazing holiday!"

10.0

This was truly the most amazing holiday! We spent a lovely family holiday in such a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere. The outstanding service of all the staff made everything feel perfect. A big thanks to Babis from the restaurant, whose professionalism and kindness made us feel so comfortable and well taken care of. We would strongly recommend this place and will definitely consider coming back in the future!

"Decent holiday but not 5*"

6.0

We are staying for 11 nights which is due to come to an end later this week. We have had a lovely holiday but I would say the hotel is average and not 5*. Rooms are fine, clean and tidy, but basic. Pools - soooo many pools which is great given the size of this hotel. It doesn’t feel busy in the day when round the pool. The tiles could do with a spruce up in the pools other than the main pool by the main bar. Food - this is what lets the hotel down!! It is dreadful! I don’t think we have had a hot meal out of the restaurant. It’s also like a cattle market in the restaurant which doesn’t make it enjoyable as some people can be rude!! Snack bars - thank god they have these as most lunch times we ate here! Really tasty! Drinks - Rola cola isn’t great at all!! Lemon/orange/lime soda much better!! Alcohol is ok but I’m not a big drinker so can’t comment on that. Not much around the hotel but beach is a short walk and there are a few shops and restaurants close by. All in all, we’ve had a decent holiday, just food in the restaurant is a let down and I would say 4* at best.

"30th August for a week, family suit swim up room. Best poolside food ever!"

8.0

Stayed August 30th for one week, 1 adult, 1 child in family suite with swim up. Room 6021. Spotless with 2 bedrooms, overhead and a moveable shower head, safe with key (free given on arrival), good AC, fridge (with a tiny freezer compartment) with water and pop refreshed every 2 days. Double bed was x2 singles, but thick mattress topper means you couldn’t tell. Shower was good and temperature held constantly, moveable head had excellent pressure. AC was good, but I could only get it to come on once a certain temperature reached, comfortable though. Floor very slippery when wet throughout and in bathroom. Cleaning staff were excellent and left bottles of water on doorstep when do not disturb sign up, also adhered to my request to not touch the beds (but left clean linen incase I wanted to do it myself). Cleaning staff also asked whilst we were in the pool if we needed anything when do not disturb sign up. Only downsides, no shower mat when arrived, so used spare towel. No shelf in shower so all wash stuff on the floor (I can’t bend well), no handle on outside of verander door so I left ajar (but did have a moving half door to close when main door open and small kids inside to prevent them from getting in the pool). Pools: plentiful of pools to get in without bumping into people. Our areas was quiet whereas the mid area was really busy. Sunbeds available anytime of day (again may not be the case in busier areas). Varying pool depths, ours was 1.4-1.5m. Robot cleaned the pool 3 nights during our 7. Our verandas were largely in the shade, so even people with swim up rooms used poolside beds to be in sun which didn’t seem an issue where we were. No lifeguards at pools. Slides were good fun with 2 lifeguards top and bottom who were kind, friendly and made sure everyone stayed safe. Towards the end of our trip, visitors tapered off so often had the poo, to ourselves. Free towels from spa provided by a card given by reception that can be changed daily with card to be given back to reception on checkout. People left their inflatables which mounted up over time as became quite messy. Other than that, all pool areas spotless. Food: poolside food best we’ve ever had and all freshly made on request (some pre made for demand and kept bug free, although fast turnover as well used). Burgers, pizza and garlic bread from pizza oven and pork or chicken gyros, all yummy. Breakfast was good and my son enjoyed freshly made pancakes and waffles. All the usual stuff but the yogurt was delicious. We did breakfast between 9-10:30 and was busy but always managed a table. Didn’t go inside for lunch as poolside food was the fav. Dinner was good and eating between 8-9:15 there were plentiful tables inside. Food was delicious, especially the meat section, and large selection to choose from. Kids section good with variations which were yummy. I’m not a fussy eater but did have a few nights with limited selection for my taste due to things being in sauces I didn’t like, but always ate well. Desserts were delicious. Free Ice cream during the day by the small kids slides which had a bit of a wait. Not all ice cream was frozen due to high turnover, so don’t walk far. Were delicious though in either a cone or cup (with stick, no spoon). Bars: Nearest bar to us open from 5pm serving plenty of nice drinks including alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails free until 11pm. Also had arcade style games. A quiet bar on the outskirts of complex, never queued for a drink. Poolside bar had a queue about 8 long, but served quickly. As we only had soft drinks, we self served with no queue. Other bar near entertainment seemed busy at night, but we didn’t use. There is an onsite shop selling a small amount of drinks, snacks, souvenirs, pool toys, flip flops and hats. Beach Isla: sandy beach with area for ball sports. No pathway to walk down so only ventured when light. Shops on the way. Sunbeds 5euros per bed and massive donuts 2.5euros by guy walking along ringing a bell. Found no need for swim shoes but there was a barrage of seaweed to get through to enter the sea. Was clean and clear once in though. Waves larger than used to but felt no current. Water sports at a cost and lifeguard present. Would definitely stay here again, but here are a few things that would make the stay better or to be knowledgeable from. There is nowhere to hand wet clothing/swimwear to dry over night, I knew this before I left and brought a bungee cord and a few pegs which I tied between our two veranda Sunbeds). Sunbed towel pegs are helpful for poolside and beach on windier days (these are also sold in shop). A shelf in the shower would be helpful to not keep bending to stuff on the floor. I brought my own coffee, but no spoon in room. ( no big deal, I asked and took one from restaurant). We brought our own water bottles which we filled from soft drink machine poolside as we didn’t have a bar close by, so saved going back and forth. Bring own inflatables if you want to know what’s yours as all those sold onsite are the same (felt safe leaving our stuff on veranda). Our swim up rooms were always in the shade, so be prepared to go poolside for sun (which was never an issue with Sunbeds where we were). Floors are slippery when wet inside and out. Be careful of electronics on verandas as although it says no jumping, there was plenty of. It’s not easy to navigate in the dark, especially when you arrive, so a printed map of the resort would have been helpful. We did find our way to breakfast but had to ask a guest where to get ice cream. Summery: Good food, best poolside food. Clean rooms, pool and pool areas aside from the left inflatables and the odd cup. Staff were nice, helpful and friendly.

"Mixes feeling on this hotel we did have a lovely holiday"

8.0

Room I really liked the porter helping us to our room when we got to the hotel We stayed in the family suite room 7156 – the room was spacious and clean (the cleaner was so lovely and did a great job) It was over the restaurant and over looked the main bar. So in the morning there was a lot of chair scraping on the floor noise from the restaurant luckily my children are deep sleepers Also in the evening when the entertainment was in the bar area it was very noisy. This is just personal preference though as we do not stay up late on holiday. Drinks The kids at first weren’t too keen on the soft drinks but they soon got use to them The beer wasn’t great and was often quite flat I would say the wine, prosecco etc were ok The cocktails were just like drinking juice We don’t drink loads on holiday and probably drank less on this one because of the drinks Food Breakfast in the buffet was lovely – yoghurt, waffle, pancakes, eggs, crusty bread and delicious Jams etc We loved the quick service burger, gyros and pizza for lunch The buffet restaurant was a bit hit and miss – we loved the Greek theme night and wish they had that more often, some nights its all felt a bit random We usually ate a bit later 8pm ish and the desserts often ran out early We choose not to eat at the ala carte restaurants We all loved getting daily (multiple) ice creams We did walk into the town on our last night to have a meal out as we wanted to end the holiday with a really great Greek meal which we did! Ταβέρνα του "Πεπόνη" I would highly recommend this place Kids club Worth a mention here the ladies that work in it where lovely and my son loved going. It is open 10am – 6pm with various activities on during the day or you can just drop them off for a play He also loved the mini disco Pools The pools and splash parks were really good. The pools felt really cool on the first few days when there was quite a breeze my youngest kept getting blue lips but this was a bit better when the breeze died down He did cut his food quite badly in the splash park but the onsite medical team help patch him up We went the last week of August and noticed towards the end of the week how much quieter the hotel was and it was much easier to get sun loungers For the first time at a AI hotel none of us got a funny tummy Also I normally get eaten alive by mosquitoes on holiday and I did not get one bite this holiday! We went on daily walks and went for drinks along the beach front to watch the sunset which I would recommend, spent some time at the beach 15 euro for 3 sun loungers and a umbrella

"Excellent hotel"

10.0

Honest review family of four. Ages 4 months and 3.5 years. Excellent clean hotel, providing entertaining for both adults and children all day. Entertainment at night is worth a watch every night. The artists and crew clearly spend a long time rehearsing and making it fun for all. This hotel is the perfect hotel for families or adults who are big kids! If i was to be picky I would say all inclusive drinks are like rola cola and cheap brands you wont get premium drinks/ cocktails unless you pay for it. No iron in the room and no english sausage for breakfast. These are our minor gripes but my no means a reason not to come. We will certainly come back when the children are bigger. Excellent staff, hotel and a short 5 minute walk to the beach.

"Not all inclusive….. PLUS"

6.0

We’ve just come back from a 10 day stay here via Jet2. All my main issues are with Jet2 as they lied about our package but I’ll give an honest review about this water park. The positives are the look of it, the main bar and palm trees are nice the selection of pools and the slides are ok, the woman staff (hardest working by far) the daytime selection of Gyros Pizza and Burgers also ice cream, the rooms are ok, nothing special but not bad. The negatives are the main food, it’s very hit and miss with lots sometimes being cold, overcooked or undercooked, prepare to wait for your bread to be toasted there was only 2 toasters and nearly always a queue. The play machines and pool tables all require tokens which is a minimum of €10 which gets you 10 tokens, nearly all the machines need 2 tokens to play the pool table needs 3 so if you have kids you’ll be paying an arm and leg to keep them entertained in the evenings. The all inclusive drinks are ok if it’s spritzers gin and tonic or cocktails but the wines and beer are not great at all very very weak watery and cheap. You nearly always have to queue for a drink as they don’t use many staff and if you want the luxury of a local Mythos beer you’ll need to pay €5 for a small bottle (Jet2 told us these would be included). Trying to book into the main restaurant was impossible it was always half empty with only 2 staff and would get booked up instantly the app we tried never worked and reception wouldn’t help. My son cut his foot on the Sunday and you can only get plasters from a pharmacy which were closed, reception on had small ones so again not ideal. It stated the whole towel on sun beds would not be tolerated and if any were left they would be removed, this is a lie you will get the same early bird sun gods waking up at the crack of dawn to secure their 4 sun beds at the crack of dawn whether they use them or not. The worst part was the smell though, for the last 5 days all you could smell was sewage I it really was off putting especially eating your breakfast outside. The simple fact is they rate this as a 5 star hotel themselves and Jet2 gave it 4 stars, it really isn’t it is 3 star with some good pools. We spent a lot of time down the beach in the end which is a 10 minute walk to avoid the smell of sewage or the fact we couldn’t get sun beds. Honestly have a look around we were charged for an “All Inclusive Plus” package and got a “Some Inclusive Negative” package. Crete is beautiful I definitely recommend the island, not the hotel or Jet2.
