Stayed August 30th for one week, 1 adult, 1 child in family suite with swim up.
Room 6021. Spotless with 2 bedrooms, overhead and a moveable shower head, safe with key (free given on arrival), good AC, fridge (with a tiny freezer compartment) with water and pop refreshed every 2 days. Double bed was x2 singles, but thick mattress topper means you couldn’t tell. Shower was good and temperature held constantly, moveable head had excellent pressure. AC was good, but I could only get it to come on once a certain temperature reached, comfortable though. Floor very slippery when wet throughout and in bathroom. Cleaning staff were excellent and left bottles of water on doorstep when do not disturb sign up, also adhered to my request to not touch the beds (but left clean linen incase I wanted to do it myself). Cleaning staff also asked whilst we were in the pool if we needed anything when do not disturb sign up. Only downsides, no shower mat when arrived, so used spare towel. No shelf in shower so all wash stuff on the floor (I can’t bend well), no handle on outside of verander door so I left ajar (but did have a moving half door to close when main door open and small kids inside to prevent them from getting in the pool).
Pools: plentiful of pools to get in without bumping into people. Our areas was quiet whereas the mid area was really busy. Sunbeds available anytime of day (again may not be the case in busier areas). Varying pool depths, ours was 1.4-1.5m. Robot cleaned the pool 3 nights during our 7. Our verandas were largely in the shade, so even people with swim up rooms used poolside beds to be in sun which didn’t seem an issue where we were. No lifeguards at pools. Slides were good fun with 2 lifeguards top and bottom who were kind, friendly and made sure everyone stayed safe. Towards the end of our trip, visitors tapered off so often had the poo, to ourselves. Free towels from spa provided by a card given by reception that can be changed daily with card to be given back to reception on checkout. People left their inflatables which mounted up over time as became quite messy. Other than that, all pool areas spotless.
Food: poolside food best we’ve ever had and all freshly made on request (some pre made for demand and kept bug free, although fast turnover as well used). Burgers, pizza and garlic bread from pizza oven and pork or chicken gyros, all yummy. Breakfast was good and my son enjoyed freshly made pancakes and waffles. All the usual stuff but the yogurt was delicious. We did breakfast between 9-10:30 and was busy but always managed a table. Didn’t go inside for lunch as poolside food was the fav. Dinner was good and eating between 8-9:15 there were plentiful tables inside. Food was delicious, especially the meat section, and large selection to choose from. Kids section good with variations which were yummy. I’m not a fussy eater but did have a few nights with limited selection for my taste due to things being in sauces I didn’t like, but always ate well. Desserts were delicious. Free Ice cream during the day by the small kids slides which had a bit of a wait. Not all ice cream was frozen due to high turnover, so don’t walk far. Were delicious though in either a cone or cup (with stick, no spoon).
Bars: Nearest bar to us open from 5pm serving plenty of nice drinks including alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails free until 11pm. Also had arcade style games. A quiet bar on the outskirts of complex, never queued for a drink. Poolside bar had a queue about 8 long, but served quickly. As we only had soft drinks, we self served with no queue. Other bar near entertainment seemed busy at night, but we didn’t use.
There is an onsite shop selling a small amount of drinks, snacks, souvenirs, pool toys, flip flops and hats.
Beach Isla: sandy beach with area for ball sports. No pathway to walk down so only ventured when light. Shops on the way. Sunbeds 5euros per bed and massive donuts 2.5euros by guy walking along ringing a bell. Found no need for swim shoes but there was a barrage of seaweed to get through to enter the sea. Was clean and clear once in though. Waves larger than used to but felt no current. Water sports at a cost and lifeguard present.
Would definitely stay here again, but here are a few things that would make the stay better or to be knowledgeable from. There is nowhere to hand wet clothing/swimwear to dry over night, I knew this before I left and brought a bungee cord and a few pegs which I tied between our two veranda Sunbeds). Sunbed towel pegs are helpful for poolside and beach on windier days (these are also sold in shop). A shelf in the shower would be helpful to not keep bending to stuff on the floor. I brought my own coffee, but no spoon in room. ( no big deal, I asked and took one from restaurant). We brought our own water bottles which we filled from soft drink machine poolside as we didn’t have a bar close by, so saved going back and forth. Bring own inflatables if you want to know what’s yours as all those sold onsite are the same (felt safe leaving our stuff on veranda). Our swim up rooms were always in the shade, so be prepared to go poolside for sun (which was never an issue with Sunbeds where we were). Floors are slippery when wet inside and out. Be careful of electronics on verandas as although it says no jumping, there was plenty of. It’s not easy to navigate in the dark, especially when you arrive, so a printed map of the resort would have been helpful. We did find our way to breakfast but had to ask a guest where to get ice cream.
Summery: Good food, best poolside food. Clean rooms, pool and pool areas aside from the left inflatables and the odd cup. Staff were nice, helpful and friendly.
