Loved the location for the Ironman 70.3 Cap Cana. The food was great and service was amazing

They only had two of the five restaurants open. Men needed slacks to go the Italian restaurant which my husband didn’t bring knowing the weather was in the high 80s. That left us with one dining choice. It was good but not as advertised They also had a lot of sargassum so the beach was uninhabitable

The property is well located inside the exclusive Cap Cana community. If you are expecting a more exclusive - laid back location vs Bavaro (where most all inclusives are), this is a good spot.

Really dissapointed in general with my experience. 1. Beach Expectations: I travelled from a country which has plenty of beaches, because I wanted to see even more beautiful beaches and setting. However, what I encountered was a pretty dirty beach, full of Sargassum, and with its only beach entirely closed. This is something the hotel definitely cannot control, however, for someone that called multiple times right before my stay to confirm this situation and the conditions the beach, which I was assured where “under control”, it was a shame to find myself from the first day of my stay unable to enjoy a second of this place. Just make sure to NEVER travel during Sargassum season, which I understand extends from May through September. No matter what they say. Look for the customer reviews, and you’ll find out that everything that is said is true. 2. Unexpected Charges: Be aware your total reservation charges, if in USD, will have an additional extra charge for currency conversion. No transparency on this whatsoever. I ended up paying a considerable amount in overcharges (even if reservation detailed total charges including taxes and fees). 3. Pool spots: Check for customer reviews. What they say, is true. People reserve spots from 6 AM (this is something even openly accepted by hotel staff). 4. Restaurants: Check for customer reviews. What they say, is true. Unexpected restaurant closings (not due to “supposed” rotation). I had to find out after check in that one restaurant was closing for renovations, other just “closed” for dinner for the entirety of my stay for no reason at all. Be sure to call and confirm as many times as possible, though in my experience, no transparency on this… 5. Service: My experience: great service one day, mediocre the next. Inconsistency across restaurants. On pool spaces, be ready to tip unless you want to feel like a ghost. 6. Food: Ok to good in general. This is certainly what we most enjoyed. 7.

Staff were really friendly and attentive. Always offering drinks when lying by the pool/beach. They let us stay after the check out until we were ready to go to the airport which was also really appreciated. Bed was very comfortable!!

Nothing the hotel can help, but the sea was disappointing. Beautiful colours in the distance but the shore was very murky with large rocks you can’t see. We were hoping to snorkel but you couldn’t see anything.
