Martinhal Quinta Family Resort

If you've got a family with kids under 5, and you're desperate for a proper holiday, go here. We loved it. It's fantastic. Go there. You won't believe the relief you feel when you're actually enjoying yourself. ALL the staff were a delight to deal with, our kids ran into the kids club (they were that keen to return), our villa was large and almost too big, the main pools were fab, the restaurant food was very good (albeit the menu is limited, although in a mostly self-catering site, that's understandable). And the setting of Quinta Do Lago is immaculate and the beech and lagoon are beautiful. The only issues I have are: There is no proper kids playground (the trampoline, pool, van, sandpit etc are great, but a set of swings, slide etc are required to tire out your toddlers). There's no gym. The shop has a well-chose range but is very pricey... and thus empty. (Reduce the prices, and bingo, more customers!)

We stayed in a 3-bed townhouse with child friendly facilities (fenced off pool, stair gates etc). The pool in the property was too cold to swim in (mid-September) and the garden was small and lost the sun around 2pm - we wonder if this was because we had requested the child-friendly facilities that we were more restricted in terms of which property we were allocated. All rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were very helpful and the M-Bar is well equipped for families (baby pool - colder than the big pool, a decommissioned camper van, trampoline, large sand pit, and water fountains). The supermarket was no more expensive than Apolonia but quite limited in choice. Food from O'Terraco was disappointing - my cod was really salty. Breakfast was excellent (out of season it is included in price). The beach was nearby but no facilities are included from the hotel.

Couldn't have asked for more. Perfection Wonderful setting, wonderful staff, wonderful accommodation.

Clean and well kept premises. Friendly Staff. Located close to the center and beach.

We hired a 2bed villa with pool , villa was great everything you could need . Maid service and concierge great . Shop had everything but wider selection at the local supermarket. Pool hangout great . My only comment for our villa was the sun loungers were not too comfortable and the restaurant deserted in the evenings . Lots of local fab restaurants to choose from

Paid a lot of money for very old / tires accomodation. Nice staff however the accommodation is furnished to the bare minimum. Pure rental properties.

We are a family of 4 with kids aged 4 and 5 and we stayed in a 2 bedroom townhouse. The facilities at the Martinhal are excellent catering for all of the families needs our kids loved the hangout area with the Trampoline and camper van and the supermarket on the resort was so handy for any necessary bits. Our kids attended the kids club a few times and really enjoyed it. Would recommend a car hire to get you around Quinta. We are already planning for next years trip

Les villas sont spacieuses, très bien équipés. Le personnel d'une réactivité exceptionnelle. L'hôtel est situé dans le quartier résidentiel de "Quinta do Lago" (4 golfs dans le quartier pour les pratiquants).super séjour dans un joli cadre.

Fantastic stay at Martnhal Quinta. The 3 bed townhouse was huge and beautifully decorated (I think it had been recently refurbished). The kitchen was well appointed, rooms cleaned daily and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Downsides: the villa pool was pretty small (but the central pool is large and lovely), there are steps down to the villa so not ideal with a buggy, there is not much of an atmosphere at the resort centre. It could do with more of an evening restaurant. Overall, really recommend.

We stayed in a 4 bed villa and returning in a month. As usual a warm Portuguese welcome with a good standard of villa for the price . Some villas are being refurbished but even original ones are great. Everything a family needs at the villa with onsite shop, cots and prams. Our 5 year old loved the communal pool where she made lots of friends. Overall a great holiday in a lovely part of Quinta !! We are coming back so that's a the best recommendation !!! Can't Praise the Portuguese people enough who are warm and welcoming .
