VOI Kiwengwa Resort

Enjoyed the comfort of the resort and the friendly staff.

The hotel is beautiful, on a white beach with cristal water. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! Food is also great!! Loved it!

Amazing week on leave. The hotel was really good, up to the mark and the stuff was always willing to help. We spent there 7 days with asolut relaxation. A lot of Italian mood around, what it makes it a "little Italy", western approach that sometimes we are missing in Dubai. We will be willoing to come back and enjoy another of our time off. Don't let it down!! The Hotel stuff only need to pay a bit more attention to details to make it an outstanding place. Very Small things can kill a whole experience, like dirty table cloths, deteriorated utensils, poor Gardens menu, beach boys too insisting, room maintenance, toilet paper not fitting...

We had a nice 3-night stay at VOI Kiwengwa. The only downside was its large size (lots of people) and hordes of Italian tourists (they absolutely love to talk) so sometimes it was hard to relax and feel that you are in a unique place such as Zanzibar.

Expect to speak Italian in Africa when you stay here as its targeted and full of Italian tourists. Great dive shop on site, attentive, friendly staff, Biko at reception is exceptionally good. Beautiful beach and soft sand which they rake the seaweed away each morning. Amazing food each day. Fresh Italian and international selections with fresh seafood each day. Only negative is the beach boys and 'Masai security' that keep coming up to either sell something or hit on you when you want to relax. May be different when you travel as a couple or family, but it was just my friend and I (two females) at the time and they wouldn't leave us alone after numerous times saying no.

Quick trip - just overnight; wished we could stay longer.

We found VOI a great experience for simply getting away for a few days and relaxing on a beautiful beach. We were greeted with juice and supper in our room since we missed dinner. The staff were thorough and knowledgeable.

The good- good beach location, nice pool, rooms big and all you need, cocktails are nice The bad- buffet gets a bit tiring, completely Italian hotel (no English speaking ANYTHING- if you can't speak even basic Italian do not stay), all prices in euros, no ATM onsite or cash withdrawal possibility, food is mostly Italian. Every other guest was Italian and although they are friendly we felt left out. Reception staff lacking in knowledge and helpfulness however other staff eg waiters very friendly and able

The hotel is not a 4star, maybe a 3star. no TV in the room and room we had did not a a great view, we were looking into a grey wall which was depressing. the hotel is italian so we the english speaking could not participate in any programs the hotel was offering as it was in Italian. the food at the main restaurant was buffet which is as expected, okay. The sushi bar was a total let down as there was no fish in the sushi, just vegetarian. Rice and cucumber. We had lunch at The restaurant by the beach it was the worst lunch ever, we couldn't eat the fish which was cold and tasteless. The overall experience was a 3star experience while we paid for a 4star experience. We asked for an early departure but the hotel refused to refund us saying they have a no refund policy. Above all, there were two guys at the restaurant who made our stay better, they were amazing, Rashid and Mr Big. Thanks to these two guys, we could smile when we were there.
