Harrah's Joliet, A Caesars Destination

The property is actually quite nice. What is supposed to be a smoke-free property is not. It smelled of cigarettes in more than a few places including my room. The choice of restaurants is down to two at night. The expensive steak house and the yuppy Mexican joint. We went to each one in two nights and the service and food was pretty good but I would have liked a few more choices.

Staff was amazingly help and courteous and the facility was amazingly clean. The only real detraction was the remodel being done on the hotel parking tower.

It was clean and quiet

on the river area around the hotel was "bombed out"; few restaurants, extensive blighted, unsafe in hotel parking garage; people smoking weed in their cars.

You know you are in trouble when you enter the dirty front door. They charge exorbitant fees if you check in before 4:00 p.m. This place is old and dilapidated, and they have the nerve to charge a resort fee. It is located on the old, unsafe part of town, and it is very difficult to find any dining options. The good ratings are posted by people who are desperate to find a casino. They can't possibly be posted by anybody who has ever experienced the hotel.

The customer service at check in was horrible when we arrived to check in the first we went to was not even cleaned or ready so we went back down and they gave us another room when we got in that room it was not a king bed that i booked instead it was a queen dbl bed. I went back down and was told just because I booked a king room that per Harrahs policies it is not guranteed. I asked the rude manager where that policy was she stayed its there and basically I had to deal with that room. I looked through booking policies and did not see nothing like that. I believe she just did not want to help. That is unexceptable and I hope going forward your front desk staff treat your guest a better.

Front desk staff was very friendly and the check in/out process was quick. Room was very clean and comfortable. Downside was, there was no place open to eat at 8p except for Mexican food. We did eat there and the food was very good but very expensive.

The room was filthy when we walked in they didn’t offer to clean the room. We stayed two nights and they wouldn’t even clean the room. Then this the second day it was like spending a lot lot of money for a room that should’ve cost 50 bucks a night, but the people were nice, but the rooms were dirty.

Check in was complicated and the overall experience was less than stimulating.
