Candlewood Suites Elgin – Northwest Chicago by IHG

We stayed here on our way home to Minnesota as a place just beyond Chicago traffic. I reserved it a couple hours ahead on the IGH app. Easy access from I-90. Very nice, friendly front desk person. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Appreciated the kitchen items. Just be aware that they do not offer breakfast, only coffee. You can purchase items in their mini store. There are good breakfast places nearby. Will return!

There is no pool or jacuzzi because it's an extended stay!

The gentleman on reception was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel had everything needed for a short stay. The upgrades that were done, were done well.

My only complaint was the faucets and water temperature. Both in the sink and shower the faucets were stiff and it was hard to create the best temperature.

The stay was alright, check in was easy, check out they went and reviewed our room before they checked us out, which I have never experienced before. There was a blinking green smoke detector right over the bed, which was intensely irritating, but otherwise fine for a place to rest before driving on in the morning. The location was a little off the path in what appeared to be a commercial park.

We stay at a unit where apparently they host guests with pets. The room was clean but some things did not work well like the faucet in the kitchen sink and the AC unit was extremely noisy. We stay 3 nights and even though we let them know they did nothing about it.

Just remodeled, ripped chair, not enough places for 2 people to sit. We won't be back. We left a day early. Would hope to get refund.

There were several major issues with the stay. First issue I called ahead the night before to ask if the hotel could give me a slightly early check in I said I would arrive around 1 due to having a call as am I an employee of Advocate and the health care business is 24/7/365. Upon arrival I was informed that they were working on the room and should be about 45 minutes then was told I couldn't check in till after 3 but my counterpart was able to check in before me. My room smelled like paint there was dog barking below me. My room had mold in the bathroom a whole in the wall and peeling cabinets. The iron ruined a 60 shirt and I only got service 1 during my 6 day stay. Alfred the oops manager helped me out big time kudos to him but the rest of the stay was less desirable I let the team know going forward we need to find a different preferred hotel.

My wife felt the mattress was perhaps one of the most comfortable she had ever slept on. She also felt the bed linens were EXCEPTIONAL !!

A great value considering the quality of The hotel. A lot of my team is staying here long term for a project. This is our second time coming back after a couple of years. The area super accessible since it's right of the main road and interstate. It's tucked away just enough for no issues with noise.
