Hillside Boutique Hotel

This was not the luxury experience stated online.

The spa booking process is outdated, and you cannot take advantage of the packages offered online. Once I did finally get booked, the massage therapist was incredibly angry and unwelcoming. He was cussing, slamming doors, and yelling in the room he was setting up. The bedding on the table was dirty and stained. My session started late and ended early. I was charged more for the session than listed on the website. I requested to speak with a hotel staff member, and while the woman I spoke with was the only saving grace, a manager should have called me back to apologize. She should not have had to do what she did.

There were plumbing problems

I went with my family to check out Hillside since it’s been newly renovated, and let me say WOW. Floor to ceiling windows, views, and a cathedral banquet space. The service at the restaurant was amazing! I was really impressed by their bar and craft cocktails because I didn’t know what to expect. Their Chef really outdid himself with the menu too- the pesto linguini was incredible. I really felt like I stepped into a vacation oasis but it was only 20 minutes from my house. I would love to come back and enjoy it again!

The room and view is nice. The bed was comfortable. The property was quiet.

Convenient

Run down but there are noisy renovations for your weekend stay. Extremely poor housekeeping, carry out only restaurant, no ice machines. No “Boutique” at this less than adequate property.

We didn't eat at the Hotel because we have favorite places we eat when we go to Castroville. We have not been since they remodeled and we think it looks amazing. We always LOVE our time at this hotel.
