Villa Sandra Hvar

Having been moved to an apartment with no balcony and right by busy road junction due to water damage in the apartment (prior to our arrival), we complained and on our second try the owner put us up in another property that was very nice. We were there for 3 nights before being moved back to the apartment we were supposed to be in in the first place (the damage having been repaired). This was acceptable but our holiday overall was spoiled by having to move 3 times in a week. Even the original apartment was not quite what we had expected from the description and we suggest you e-mail the owner direct to ensure you get what you want; he speaks excellent English and is very helpful. Villa Sandra can be accessed from the town without climbing steps and is close to the bus station.

very nice and friendly host, the apartment is very clean and very close to the bus station (if you know how to get there). I just asked.... and enjoyed my stay in Hvar island very much... Will definiltely stay with Villa Sandra again if they are available~~

Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms were very spacious with a massive bed. Had aircon and fans! Balconies had the sun all day! And nice sized kitchenette. Bathroom was not great - just a bit small with a shower curtain. Owners sometimes friendly. Great location only literally a 4 minute walk down the steps to the main town. Reasonable price too. Would stay again and recommend.

Very nice apartments for the price. Only thing is they are a walk up the hill, but not too far just 5 min. Had AC, balconies, wish we could have stayed longer.

As others have said previously , there are steps ( many of them! ) to reach the appartment, but it is only some 400 yards from the bus station.As you enter the main square from the bus station, you will find a large church on the left hand side ( St. Stephanos I think)- just climb the steps behind the church, keep ascending, until you come to a "normal" road , then you should see the appartments. We were very pleased with the accommodation, ours was an appartment with kitchenette and also a sun trap balcony; the appartment was adequately furnished with good functionality throughout, and strong wifi in the appartment too.If you are visiting Hvar for the first time, do note the cataraman service to Hvar town harbour only operates in the main season, ( in 2013 from June 1st) otherwise you will ( presumably travelling from Split) need to take the ferry to Stalin Grad ferry terminal ( on a good day a serene 2 hour sail with splendid vistas) , then a laid on bus taking about 30 minutes to Hvar town.The village of Stalin Grad , about 2 miles from Stalin Grad ferry terminal is well worth a visit too.Overall, again, would strongly recommend the Sandra appartments for the value.

Fairly basic apartment but clean and tidy and everything you need. Owners very firendly and willing to help. No seaviews here but price reflects this. Overall great value for money

Well appointed rooms with cooking facilities. The location is a good one above Hvar harbour. In theory this place should be extremely easy to find as it is just a half block off the main entry/exit road to Hvar, however the misleading Google map I had printed sent us off in the direction of a oneway street with no turning points. The people of Hvar cane to our rescue (reversed car) and supermarket kindly phoned sandra who sent her husband to guide us. The Croatians and particularly those from Hvar greatly impressed us with the kindness shown. Happy to recommend Villa Sandra.

Great apartment in Hvar old town, everything near by. We had a kitchen with oven and fridge, TV and A/C, good Wi-Fi reception. Walking distance to some small beach spots. We took a catamaran from Split to Hvar and you can walk up there from the dock in 5 min in the small narrow streets (many steps). In Croatia, you must pay cash (Euro or Kuna) for accommodation in apartments. There is a city tax as well to pay cash. Great choice.

It is an acceptable 3 star apartment about 10 to 12 minutes from the town centre. On the way down to town, it might be OK but on the way back up again, you need to be fit for the stairs and the steep incline!
