Villa Sandra Hvar

This private apartment was lovely. We had the two bedroom top floor apartment and it was located only a short (5-8 min) walk from the street level of Hvar Town. The owner was nice enough to pick us up when we arrived and drop us our bags when we left. The rooms were big and nice. Air con and fans. The bathroom and kitchen were great too.

The Villa Sandra was perfect for our getaway. It would be perfect for anyone's. Perched on the hillside on a quiet street just off the main highway into Hvar Town the apartment building only has a few units and the proprietor lives on site. Parking is easy, either paid/reserved or on the street and there is a market just a few streets away. Our unit was a 2-bedroom with a kitchen and was clean and comfortable. The beds could be a little softer but it didn't matter--everything else was amazing. We had two balconies and no view but some units have a view. The location was just far enough from the center of town (the marina) that it was quiet at night but after a 5 minute walk down the hill you are in the center of it all. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Great for any occasion, singles or couples.

A 5-min walk from town up a hill from the church on the main square. Apartment was fine, nothing fancy but a quick walk from everywhere and good value for money. Host was great and shared leftover beach cushions, gave us extra towels.

Was a nice place to stay although we lost power for a couple of hours on the 1st night. As per our neighbours in the other room they said it had happened the night before as well, something to do with a fire which had occured. Nothing was mentioned to us upon arrival and when my sister went down to speak with the owner his wife arrived at the door and wasn't overly concerned with the situation which seems silly as we were paying quite a bit of money. The male owner was lovely though and picked us up and dropped us off at the bus stop which helped as we had quite a bit of luggage. Overall would recommend it but would have been nice to have known about the possibility of power going out and maybe provided candles.

Great owner, big two room apartment with balcony , kitchenand wifi, great value. 10 mins to marina, albeit it uphill back. Very pleased. View wasn't great and balcony door bit iffy, only complaints

We had such an amazing holiday in Hvar, it was the perfect combination.. beautiful place, bit of cultural surroundings, loads of nice places to chill, beach is beautiful, but come nighttime there are great (and cheapish) places to drink and eat. We met some really fun people whilst holidaying there, We plan to go back every year. Forget Ibiza and the million pound drinks, Croatia is the place to go. Villa Sandra was great, 5 minutes out of the busy town which we really liked and the owners are really nice and helpful. The neighbours even look out for you. We plan to go back for sure. The only thing I would say is that the kitchen was quite small (just two hobs and no oven) and the apartment was not cleaned at all while we were there, we were 3 messy girls on a party holiday and after 4 days it could have done with a clean..and new towels. If they introduced this into the package I could not fault the service. WE HEART HVAR x

Comfortable, light and airy room in a good location just a few minutes walk from the town centre in one direction and small beach in the other. Very hilly all around so would be difficult for people with mobility problems but then that applies to Havr in general. In particular, we must mention the kindness of the owner, who arranged for my partner to see a Doctor during our stay as she'd been ill for several days. We felt our stay was very good value given the generally high prices on the island in peak season, and would have no hesitation in returning.

We accidentally booked this hotel for the wrong nights. We booked it for the two night before we actually arrived. Thankfully the proprietor was very understanding, he both had an apartment available for us and did not double charge us for the nights that we missed. The hotel is a house with several apartments that are rented at a daily rate. The size and quality well exceed the price. The location is great, although the lack of street signs made it difficult to find. Thankfully we speak Croatian and were able to ask locals where we could find the house. Tip on finding the place, when you enter the city from the direction of Stari Grad, head straight through the first intersection to the 4th house on the right--do not head down the hill. We did, however, have temperature control issues. Unfortunately the island of Hvar had a cold snap in mid-October. It was in the 30's overnight and the apartment was freezing. We had to put our infant son in the kitchen underneath the only heater and boil water on the stove in order to warm up the room before bedtime and in the morning. I cannot speak for the Air Condtioner as we did not use it.

Travelers looking for a simple clean and practical appartment, this is the place to stay. Although it was a little difficult to find, it was very convenient not to be located close to the restaurants and bars which can be quite noisy in the evening. The appartment was about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the center of Hvar.

A private villa(not a hotel) with a few apartments which are excellent value for money -the bathroom was fairly basic but it like the rest of the apartment was very clean.The owners were friendly and helpful and the free internet access was a plus and they even supplied the netbook computer although we used our own.It was quite difficult to find but once found it wasn't too far to the town or the small beach although it is uphill.
